On September 30, 2023, the University of Transport Ho Chi Minh City (UTH) and the DEOCA Group jointly held a ceremony to announce the establishment of the Deo Ca Research and Training Institute (DCI). This marks the result of a collaboration between the university and the business entity aimed at providing timely training and developing a skilled workforce to meet the demands of the modern workforce and the application of advanced technology.

The DCI Institute was formed by leveraging the strengths of both entities. UTH, with its over 35 years of experience in providing high-quality human resources training for the transportation and logistics sector, boasts a team of highly qualified experts with extensive experience, a wide network of local and international partnerships, and continuously improving infrastructure. On the other hand, the Deo Ca Group, with more than 38 years of experience in infrastructure development, is one of Vietnam's leading investors in transportation infrastructure. DEOCA Group has an advisory board comprising prominent politicians and leading experts from various fields, as well as a highly capable team of managers, engineers, and skilled workers who have successfully completed numerous domestic projects and are prepared to expand internationally through collaborations with foreign enterprises.
The DCI Institute's objectives include conducting in-depth research activities, receiving and transferring new and sustainable technologies in the field of construction and transportation infrastructure in Vietnam, providing highly trained personnel with practical knowledge and skills to meet the needs of businesses and organizations operating in the construction and transportation infrastructure sector, and offering policy advice and development strategies for technology and infrastructure in Vietnam's transportation sector.

In addition to providing scientific and technological services related to transportation and logistics, the DEOCA Research and Training Institute will serve as a hub for organizing seminars, addressing policy issues, addressing workforce shortages, and improving training facilities. It will collaborate with the government and relevant ministries to recommend policy changes.
In the near future, the Institute will invest in and establish critical laboratory facilities for the transportation sector, including conducting specialized experiments that have not been carried out in Vietnam, such as wind tunnels, earthquake simulations, and large-scale structures like cable-stayed bridges and suspension bridges, as well as exploring new materials. These facilities will serve the research activities of the Institute, the DEOCA Group, and other partners in need.
