Bao Bien Tunnel is an item of Bao Bien Road project connecting Ha Long City with Cam Pha City, Quang Ninh Province. The tunnel project has a total investment of 247,538 million VND, started in December 2020, and is expected to complete in December 2021.
The tunnel has a length of 235m, including two tunnel branches with three lanes each. The tunnel gauge is 13.795m wide. The geographical location of the left branch is from Km12+637.09 - Km12+953.32, and that of the right branch is from Km12+635.96 - Km12+999.94.
Bao Bien Tunnel is the first tunnel in Quang Ninh province, an effective solution to limit the risk of landslides and preserve the landscape from Ha Long Bay to Bai Tu Long Bay.
