Expanding National Highway 1 section through Khanh Hoa province

Overview

In the Government’s Transport Development Strategy until 2020 and vision until 2030, the development orientation of transport infrastructure on roads is the priority to invest for upgrading and expanding National Highway 1A, with major completion in 2015 and total completion in 2020, including National Highway A1 expanding project for the section of Km1374+525 – Km1392 and Km1405 – Km1425 (the section passing Khanh Hoa province). The project is invested in the form of BOT contract with the Deo Ca – Khanh Hoa BOT Investment Joint Stock Company being the investor.

The project was start in 26 May 2013 in Co Ma village, Van Tho, Van Ninh, Khanh Hoa. The total length of the project is around 37,5km (excluding section from Km1392 - Km1405 passing Van Gia town). The starting point of the project is at Km1374+525, adjacent to the ending point of Deo Ca tunnel project). The ending point of the project is at Km1425 (Ninh Hoa town, Khanh Hoa), aligned with the current National Highway 1; throughout the route there are 18 bridges with the total length of 575,45m.

Off-urban area: following the delta road standard level III, designed speed Vtk is 80km/hour. The width of B road surface is 20,5m; including 4 motor lanes and 2 mixed lanes. Urban area: following secondary urban main road standard, designed speed Vtk is 60km/h. The width of B road surface is 25,5m; including 4 motor lanes, 2 mixed lanes and vertical drainage system. This project has the total invested capital of more than 2 trillion Vietnamdong and is expected to complete after 30 months of construction.
