These days, Bac Giang province is fighting against Covid-19. All employees of Bac Giang – Lang Son BOT Joint Stock Company (BGLS JSC) cooperated with BGLS to draw back the Covid-19 as well as operate smoothly Bac Giang – Lang Son (BGLS) Expressway.

Isolation in controlled Covid-19 area

We have witnessed with our own eyes the difficuties of BGLS tollgate workers during serious Covid-19 days in Bac Giang.

The fact that they worked hard and non-stop in those days made us excessively touched and admired.

As the Covid-19 continues to be complicated, it is very easy for the staff to be infected with the Covid-19. They have been self – isolating, not accessing outsiders to minimize the risk of its spread.

In order to prevent actively Covid-19, the Board of Management (BOM) of the BGLS JSC devided 30% of employees with special circumstances to work from home, the rest work premanently at the tollgate.

Head of the BGLS toll stations Mr. Tang Quang Thieu told: “The employees of the BGLS toll stations have isolated for 20 days. They have complied with recommendations of the Ministry Health and regulations of Deo Ca Group ‘s BOM. After leaving the toll stations, they measured body temperature, disinfected as well as discarded used masks and gloves. Their protective glasses and clothing were special cleaned instead of being taken to the housing”.

Guarantee safety maximum for the people on the front lines

The compliance with the Covid-19 prevention measures of the expressway operators has been greatly cared by the BOM. Since May 10, 2021, after the Covid-19 had broken out in Bac Giang, the BGLS JSC arranged a separate room for each employee and focused on keeping common hygience. Workplace and the housing of the employees have been disinfected weekly.

The front - line employees were provided 100 daily meals and all masks, gloves, protective glasses, disinfectant solution, common implements by the company so as to work with peace of their mind.

The tollgate worker Ms. Luc Quynh Anh told: “We feel secure in our work in that we got encouragement from the company leaders. However, we have faced some other difficulty and had to be more carefully due to small number of employees and lack of Covid-19 preventional awareness of several drivers”.

Under the guidance of the BOM, Covid-19 vaccines would be prioritized to use for the front – line employees.

Putting aside personal lives

The self – isolation in the controlled Covid-19 zone has had a significant impact on family lives of the employees because of the fact that some of them are pregnant, others are nursing young children or elder parents.

However, they determined to stand firm to ensure the great safety for themselves, their families and community.

A company accountant Ms. Nga who is pregnant expressed: “Because of the BOM ‘s care, our lives here is very good. However, I could go for periodical antenatal examinations. The BOM planed to bring doctors here to examine medically pregnant women when the Covid-19 would be less complicated”.
