Putting the route into operation helps reduce traffic pressure on National Highway 1A and simultaneously shortens the travel time from the western provinces to Ho Chi Minh City and vice versa. The route also has great significance for promoting inter-regional connectivity, creating a driving force for socio-economic development in the Mekong Delta.
