Evaluate the operation management of Hai Van tunnel

On January 8, 2020, the Operations Management Unit and the two local authorities of Da Nang City and Thua Thien Hue Province organized a meeting to evaluate the coordination results in managing and operating Hai Van tunnel and ensure traffic safety on the route recently.

Deo Ca Transport Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company said that the traffic volume has been higher than the previous year. Specifically, in 2019, there were 3,830,405 vehicles safe passing through the tunnel, an average of 10,500 vehicles / day, of which on February 10, 2019 the highest volume with 18,909 vehicles.

In 2019, functional forces detected 1,717 vehicles violating traffic rule while traveling through the tunnel, 1,435 vehicles run below the prescribed speed, 1,298 vehicles stopped due to broken, 37 vehicles did not turn on the lights, 103 vehicles overtook through the tunnel and 134 other violating vehicles. Operation center coordinated with Hoa Hiep and Phu Loc Traffic Police Stations to handle 831 cases of violating vehicles. In addition, the operation center detected and prevented 288 vehicles carried animals, 381 oversized vehicles, requested these cars to come back, notify the traffic police station at Hoa Hiep and Phu Loc traffic police station to handle 12 cases that vehicles intentionally carrying animals enter tunnel.

Rescue and fire fighting are always giving top priority in the process of operation management when incidents occur, which are quickly and promptly implemented to ensure safe and continuous traffic, reduce damage to people and property.

Over the past time, the coordination between the functional forces of Da Nang city and Thua Thien Hue province and the tunnel management unit has strictly implemented as the contents of coordination regulations, ensuring traffic safety, rescue and fire protection in Hai Van tunnel and on the route, especially during holidays and weekends when the number of vehicle increases.
