Since restarting under the management of Deo Ca Group (March 2019), the construction progress of Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway Project has not ever faced considerable difficulties as now. "Covid-19 storm" has attacked cause many employees were infected and many others have to be isolated. In addition, the supply of materials for the Project has been delayed due to social distancing in the Southern provinces.
The 4th Covid-19 spell broke out and has developed complicatedly and dangerously. In May 2021, the epidemic spread to Tien Giang province, causing some employees of the Project were infected and hundreds of others becomeing F1, F2 had to be isolated. Some packages had to suspend construction. The supply of materials was stopped due to many regions social distancing.
The Project is sprinted to be completed by the end of this year. Currently, the Project is about 80% completed. Some packages were spread concrete carpet and finished. Completing the Project on schedule in the complicated Covid-19 context is difficult.
“Some packages faced difficulties causing construction was interrupted. However, with the solidarity of all employees, the support of the local appropriate authorities, and the sharing from the leaders of Deo Ca Group, we are overcoming obstacles together, making efforts to building to complete the Project on schedule", said Mr. Ho Dinh Chung - Deputy General Management of Trung Luong - My Thuan BOT Joint Stock Company.

Right from the early days of the epidemic, the Steẻing Committee for Covid-19 Prevention of Deo Ca Group was established. Epidemic response plans are also built to be active in all bad situations. Works carried out by Deo Ca Group throughout the country. Therefore, when any project faces difficulties, it is going to be timely supplemented personnel from other projects. At the same time, the Group’s Chairman assigned three Vice Chairmen to work in different regions to implement activities most effectively.
When the Covid-19 broke out in Tien Giang province and the Covid-19 vaccines was scarce, Deo Ca Group proactively proposed the Ministry of Health to allocate vaccines for employees working in the Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway Project with all cost shall be paid by the Group. As a result, all employees of the Project have been vaccinated. The total number of employees of the Group vaccinated is over 2.000.

From 0.00 A.M on July 19, 2021, the Southern provinces simultaneously implemented social distancing according to Directive 16. The social distancing greatly affected the construction of the Project's packages. Vice Chairman Mr. Phan Van Thang was appointed to work directly in the Project to ensure the construction progress, guide the Director Board to ensure health and life condition of employees, and at the same time support contractors to overcome this hardship.
Mr. Phan Van Thang said: “The epidemic is unpredictable. However, that does not mean that we lose our heart. Deo Ca Group built plans to "live with the Covid-19", ensuring the dual goal of minimizing the impact of the epidemic while constructing to complete the Project on schedule. Recently, Deo Ca Group advanced 500 billion VND to support contractors facing difficulties in materials and finance.
The contractors were very hard to access and transport materials to the construction site because they have to go through many epidemic prevention checkpoints in Tien Giang and neighboring provinces. In order to ensure that the supply of materials is not interrupted, Deo Ca Group has discussed with the People's Committee of Tien Giang and medical centers to test rapidly the Covid-19 regularly three days a time for the employees building concrete carpet of package XL27 and XL28 to be fit to go through the checkpoints, the cost shall be paid by the Group.

During the "Covid-19 storm”, in addition to the Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway, other works of Deo Ca Group have exciting movements. Recently, Deo Ca technical excavated Bao Bien Tunnel connecting Ha Long with Cam Pha (Quang Ninh province). Besides, the tunnelers of the Group also completed the first 100m of two tunnels of Thung Thi Tunnel (Mai Son - National Road 45 Expressway Project. Packages of My Thuan - Can Tho Expressway, Cam Lo - La Son Expressway, Nghi Son - Dien Chau Expressway built by Deo Ca Group are on schedule now.
In addition, Deo Ca Group actively contributed to the Covid-19 epidemic prevention of whole country. The Group supported the Covid-19 Prevention Fund in Lam Dong (5 billion VND) and Dien Bien (5 billion VND). A campaign to contribute a day's salary to the Government’s Covid-19 Vaccine Fund, launched by the Group's Trade Union, was actively responded by all employees.
Besides, Deo Ca Group also donated the Trueline Covid-19 Ag Rapid Test sets to Phu Yen (2.000 sets), Tien Giang (3.500 sets), and cooperated with Bamboo Capital Group to support vehicles transporting doctors and equipment to prevent the epidemic in some provinces such as Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Yen, Long An,…
