On April 25, 2022, Truong Vinh tunnel was completed digging, marking a significant milestone. This is the result of the outstanding efforts of DCG employees over the past. The tunnel, with a total length of 450m and located on the border of Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces, is one of the essential items of the expressway.
Truong Vinh tunnel belongs to package XL01, Nghi Son - Dien Chau section, North-South expressway project in the East, with a total construction investment of more than 4,700 billion VND.
The tunnel goes through Mong Ga mountain connecting from Truong Lam commune - Tinh Gia district - Thanh Hoa to Quynh Vinh commune - Hoang Mai town - Nghe An.
The tunnel includes two tunnel tubes, and each tube has three lanes. The design speed is 80 km/h (100 km/h at the completion phase), and the tunnel width is 12.5m.
After more than eight months of continuous construction from July 2021, the items of blasting and tunneling in the left tube are completed by DCG.
DCG has deployed 12 construction groups for two tunnels, the bridge, the road, sewers, etc.
The Board of Management of the project has organized three work shifts per day with more than 130 employees and many specialized and modern machines.
During the construction process, the contractor has faced many difficulties. However, the BOM has tried to find reasonable construction remedies to ensure the work is completed on schedule.
In addition, DCG continues to build projects concluding Thung Thi tunnel, Cua Luc 3 bridge, Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway, and research Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway, Huu Nghi - Chi Lang expressway, Tan Phu - Bao Loc expressway.
DCG is also researching and approaching some new projects expected to be invested in the PPP mode, such as Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh expressway, and promoting other public investment projects.
Mr. Phan Van Thang - Vice Chairman of DCG, said: "Phase 2 of North-South Expressway is a national key project. The project is implemented, and we identify this as an opportunity for DCG to affirm its position in the field of transport infrastructure".
"With a wealth of capacity and experience, we are always ready to meet the affairs at the North-South expressway," Mr. Thang said.
Recently, the Road Administration Department III invited HHV - a member of DCG, to participate in the operation of Mui Trau tunnel (the item in the La Son - Tuy Loan expressway project). The Road Administration Department III believes that HHV has sufficient capacity to ensure safe tunnel operation.
