The situation is at 15:00, a 9-ton truck when ran to Km +555 of Hai Van tunnel 2 a right front tire has blown.The truck lost control and crashed into the tunnel wall, the oil tank hit hard and broke, fuel spilled out, causing a fire, producing a lot of smoke and high heat, smoke and fire spread to other vehicles. The traffic flow at that time was blocked for a long time. At the time, there were 2 people on the truck, including 1 passenger who was injured in the hand.
Noticing the accident through the surveillance system by cameras and traffic sensors, the operating center issues orders to close 2 tunnel entrances to handle incidents, and at the same time implements handling steps according to plan 3B, regulating traffic ensures distance and space for special vehicles to approach. The fire protection and rescue forces deployed the actions, prioritizing the rescue of the victims, and at the same time conducting fire fighting and bringing damaged vehicles to a safe place.
At the end of the rehearsal, the steering committee changed the tunnel operation mode from practice to normal, then held a meeting to draw conclusions about the drill.
The successful rehearsal demonstrated the agility and ability to handle situations of the on-site fire force and confirmed the close and synchronous coordination between the on-site fire prevention force and the local professional fire brigade.
