On December 21, 2021, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thai Hoang - Deputy Director of Phu Yen Provincial Police and professional departments PC07, PC06, PV01 had a meeting with the leaders of Deo Ca Tunnels Management Enterprise on the work of fire prevention and fighting and security for the tunnel area.
At the meeting, the leaders of Deo Ca Tunnel Operation and Management Enterprise reported on the management of Deo Ca tunnel, Co Ma tunnel and the leading route. At the same time, the Enterprise reports on the operation plan to ensure security and safety during the New Year and Lunar New Year 2022.

At the meeting, the Operations Management Enterprise organized firefighting training in the tunnel and deployed the firefighting force, means of fire prevention and fighting equipment. According to the hypothetical situation, at 10:30, a 7-seat car was moving in the tunnel in the North - South direction, when reaching Km 5+315, the car suddenly shorted, causing a fire. After detecting the fire, the head of the operation shift issues an order to activate the level 3A Fire & Rescue plan. The fire fighting was carried out urgently, after only 12 minutes, the fire was completely extinguished, traffic through the tunnel returned to normal.
After directly observing the tunnel operation when there was an incident, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thai Hoang highly appreciated the professionalism in fire prevention and fighting, security and order, and traffic safety of Deo Ca Tunnel Cultural Management Enterprise. Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoang suggested that the enterprise continue to promote its achievements and support Phu Yen Fire Department in fire fighting work in the province.
Fire drills in Deo Ca tunnel
Deo Ca Tunnel was put into operation on August 21, 2017. Until now, the tunnel has ensured for 8,552,085 turns of vehicles to pass through the tunnel safely, no fire or explosion has occurred in the tunnel, 11 cars have been rescued from collisions and promptly extinguished 6 fires on the route. All accidents are handled quickly by the staff of Deo Ca Tunnel Cultural Management Enterprise, minimizing damage, and ensuring traffic flow.
Currently, Deo Ca tunnel operation enterprise has 250 employees, 69 people are specialized forces for fire prevention and fighting. All are well-trained and ready to respond in case of an incident. Every year, the unit cooperates with relevant functional forces to organize fire prevention and fighting drills, improve the fighting capacity of the team.
