Deo Ca Transport Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company (DII) has issued a notice that they will open Hai Van Tunnel 24/24h on Canh Ty New Year from January 20, 2020 to January 29, 2020 (December 26,2019 to January 5, 2020 Lunar calendar). The non-stop operation will shorten the travel time, serving the travel need of people before, during and after Tet in the fastest way, avoiding traffic congestion as well as insecurity and theft could occur when vehicles are waiting on the road leading to the tunnel during the closure time.

In order to ensure the safe operation of Hai Van Tunnel during Tet holiday, the Hai Van Tunnel Operation Control factory has used 150% of the menpower and prepared rescuing plans to promptly take action when any incident occurs. At the same time, the factory also promote the propaganda for drivers to strictly abide by the regulations when passing through the tunnel such as running at the permitted speed (at least 40km/h to avoid congestion), not overtaking, keeping the safe distance, especially checking fire safety for vehicles before entering the tunnel.

According to the operation management procedure, the Hai Van tunnel is allowed to close from 3am to 4am daily to clean the tunnel structure, maintain and repair equipments. However, this work has been allocated more manpower, means and the plans has been adjusted to implement 1 to 2 weeks earlier before and after Tet to ensure 10 days before and after Tet holiday, the tunnel will not stop operating as usual.

The operating sections of the Operations Center and the rescue force, fire protection force are always highly concentrated, closely monitoring and supervising all activities, traffic situation in the tunnel and on the leading road to promptly handle the incidents, all to keep Hai Van tunnel operating safely and effectively to serve people’s traveling demand during Tet Canh Ty 2020.
