After 11 months of intense construction, at exactly 15 o'clock on November 19, 2021, the burning of the last tunnel on the right branch of Thung Thi tunnel (contract package XL - 12) was officially opened, marking an important milestone of the project. Thung Thi is one of the longest tunnels of the East North-South Expressway project, which is considered a complex item, requiring very high technical requirements.
Attending the event, on the side of Deo Ca Group, there were Mr. Phung Tien Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Group, Mr. Ho Dinh Chung - General Director, Dai Duc Thich Tinh Tue - Spiritual Advisor of the Group. On the side of the investor, there were Mr. Ho Ngoc Loan, Deputy Director of Thang Long Project Management Board, project managers, supervision consultants, and local leaders who came to the construction site to congratulate this special event of the package.

Today, tunneling is a very important premise to gradually complete Thung Thi tunnel. We highly appreciate the construction capacity and thank the Group.”

Tunneling is important for speeding up the overall progress of the package and the project, helping to shorten the distance between construction points, thereby creating favorable conditions for the transportation and mobilization of machinery, equipment, supplies and materials for the construction of the items. Therefore, after exceeding the schedule to clear the right tunnel, Mr. Phung Tien Thanh on behalf of the Board of Directors gave "hot rewards" to the Executive Board of the bidding package.
Due to the epidemic situation and working schedule in Lam Dong, Mr. Ho Minh Hoang - Chairman of Deo Ca Group, who was unable to attend, also congratulated all staff at the project: "In During the epidemic, many businesses had to stop operating, but we have overcome all of them and have organized the work to ensure progress. Today's tunneling event is the result of everyone's efforts."

According to the design, package number 12-XL has a route length of 6.6 km, of which Thung Thi tunnel is 680m, the right tunnel has been excavated, the left tunnel is completed 545m out of a total of 648m, the tunnel is expected to be opened in December 2021. The tunnel is constructed according to the NATM method, a permanent work with the scale of 03 motor vehicle lanes and 01 pedestrian lane with fully arranged lighting and ventilation system in the tunnel. The works on the route have the starting point at Km301+000 in Ha Tien commune, and the end point at Km307+600 in Ha Linh commune (Ha Trung district, Thanh Hoa). After day and night efforts to drill mountains and tunnels to try to exceed the schedule, now the right tunnel has been dug through.
To prepare for the construction of this item, Deo Ca Group has mobilized the most modern drilling machines and tunneling machines, which have served in the construction of Co Ma tunnel projects, Deo Ca tunnels, Cu Mong tunnels, etc… In addition, there were many experienced personnel in tunneling work, in order to organize the construction to achieve the required schedule. Currently, the bidding package is organizing 8 construction projects, including 4 roads, 2 bridges and 2 tunnels. In order to fully implement the works in tunnel construction, the Project Management Board deployed 3 working shifts a day with the number of employees more than 150 people, along with many specialized and modern machines and equipment.

Although during the construction process, the contractor encountered many difficulties, especially the Covid-19 epidemic, which greatly affected the mobilization of machinery and personnel. However, with great determination, the project management has gradually overcome bottlenecks, speeded up the progress, and ensured the set plan.
In the context of complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, Deo Ca Group has responded flexibly, ensured labor safety and well implemented the "dual goal" of ensuring construction progress as well as effective epidemic prevention, and absolute safety for workers' health in the system.
Through each day, under the hands and minds of engineers, workers and laborers, the Thung Thi tunnel project has been gradually completed. The difficulties of lack of personnel have also been overcome day by day by the unremitting efforts of the project management, engineers and workers. Deo Ca Group is confident to bring package number 12-XL to the finish line in early 2022.
