By August 22, 2023, all tunnel, bridge, and pathway construction was 100% complete. The fire protection component recently passed acceptance, which is crucial for project operation.
Cleaning and sanitizing the premises are nearly done. Expected completion date is August 25, 2023, in time for the September 2, 2023 opening ceremony.

After Nghi Son - Dien Chau Expressway opens, travel time from Thanh Hoa to Nghe An will be reduced from 3 hours to 1.5 hours, while travel time from Hanoi to Dien Chau will be reduced from 5 hours to 3.5 hours.
Truong Vinh Tunnel is part of package XL01 of the Nghi Son - Dien Chau component project on the East section of the North-South expressway. It connects Thanh Hoa to Nghe An through Mong Ga mountain, spanning 450m. The tunnel has 2 branches, each with 3 lanes, designed for a speed of 80km/h (100km/h in the completion phase), and a width of 12.5m. Construction began in July 2021 and is now nearly ready for operation as scheduled. |
