On April 4, 2022, the Department of Road Administration III invited Deo Ca Transport Infrastructure Joint Stock Company (HHV) which is an experienced unit and is currently managing and operating most of the tunnels on the national road to discuss the operation plan of Mui Trau tunnel (an item of La Son - Tuy Loan expressway project).

Department of Road Administration III believes that in order to put La Son - Tuy Loan expressway into operation, especially the operation of the Mui Trau tunnel, a competent and experienced unit is required to promptly handle fire, explosion and accident in the tunnel as well as operate other related equipment systems such as SCADA system, ventilation system, intelligent traffic system ITS… HHV is trusted to solve these problems well.

HHV has prepared resources, vehicles and equipment ready to perform the management and operation of Mui Trau tunnel.

The representative of HHV said that the unit has prepared resources, vehicles and specialized equipment for the management and operation of Mui Trau tunnel. With the capacity and experience in the management and operation of road tunnels and expressways, this is the first step to demonstrate that HHV has ready to participate in the management of the North-South Expressway in the East which the Government is directing to expeditiously complete and put into operation in the coming period.

On the morning of April 6, 2022, HHV sent a full force including rescue, fire prevention and fighting, maintenance, operation and vehicles, specialized forklifts of the company to access the scene, conduct field surveys in coordination with relevant units to prepare for the operation of Mui Trau tunnel.

Through the discussion, Mr. Nguyen Minh Khanh, representative of Ho Chi Minh Road PMU said: "After listening to the Department of Road Administration III announcing that Deo Ca is involved in operation management, we are very reassured and ready to coordinate with the company to carry out related works to soon hand over the project and put it into operation”.

La Son - Tuy Loan expressway project started at the end of December 2013 with a total length of 77.5km, starting at La Son junction, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien - Hue and ending at Tuy Loan intersection, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city. This is also the connection point at the northern pole of the North-South Expressway, section Da Nang - Quang Ngai.

According to the Department of Road Administration III, there are 2 tunnels running in parallel with a total length of nearly 3km of tunnels. The safety of the tunnel is an important factor that needs to be set for the operation unit. It is necessary to have a competent and experienced unit in the management and operation of tunnels, especially rescue, fire protection and incident handling from the Operations Center such as Deo Ca tunnel, Hai Van tunnel, Cu Mong tunnel, Phuoc Tuong – Phu Gia tunnel.
