At 20:20 on April 17, 2021, leader of the fire prevention and fighting police department of Phu Yen Provincial Police Department sent a request to ask for assistance for a major fire incident at a wood factory in the Northeast Song Cau industrial zone, Xuan Hai commune, Song Cau town. Cu Mong road tunnel enterprise promptly mobilized 1 fire engine, 1 tank truck and 1 firefighting crew to participate in fire fighting and supply water for the Firefighting and rescue forces of Phu Yen province. At 23:55 on the same day, when the fire was controlled, supporting force and vehicles of Cu Mong Tunnel Management Enterprise returned to their duty positions after receiving the approval of the function agency.

During more than 2 years of putting Cu Mong tunnel into operation, in addition to ensuring safety and timely performs fire fighting and rescue for vehicles travel through traffic through Cu Mong tunnel, the tunnel management center has support fire fighting for 6 fire cases in Phu Yen and 1 in Binh Dinh province. The firefighting and rescue forces of the two provinces highly appreciated and sent their thanks to the tunnel operation management unit.
