On May 9th and 10th, 2019, State Council for Pre-acceptance test for construction works inspected the construction site and worked through the expansion of Hai Van road tunnel. This is the 5th regular inspection of the Council for Hai Van project.
Mr. Pham Tien Van, Deputy Director of State authority for construction quality inspection, Head of inspection team hosted the inspection and meeting session at Hai Van project.
At present, investors and contractors are focusing on items such as expanding Hai Van 2 tunnel (drilling and explosion work, strengthening tunnels in the South, the North with 5.1/6.3km volume of work completed); constructing bored piles, abutment structures, piles, installing beams and pre-stressed beams of Hai Van bridge and Southern bridges. In general, investors and contractors focused on organizing construction to ensure progress of the project.
The State council for pre-acceptance test for construction works highly appreciated the quality of Hai Van tunnel construction after taking experience from the construction of Deoca and Cu Mong tunnels. Through inspection, it was deemed on a general basis that construction items are according to the project’s design and technical guidance.
Quality management is also highly appreciated by the Council seeing that documents, materials, construction documents, pre-acceptance test results, testing results, construction organization methods of contractors are prepared and organized in compliance with regulations.
In addition, Council experts require investors to continue directing contractors, supervising consultants to enhance inspection and control of input materials, ensure the construction and acceptance of public works according to design requirements and overcoming a number of shortcomings in tunnel and road construction.
