On January 17 and 19, 2021, the Board of Management (BOM) of Package 12-XL of the Mai Son - National Road 45 Project (in Thanh Hoa province), Cua Luc 1 Bridge and Cua Luc 3 Bridge (in Quang Ninh province) held 2020 year-end meetings.
Members of Advisory Council and BOM of Deo Ca Group (DCG) visited Cua Luc 1 Bridge’s building site
The meetings, under the direction of DCG’s Vice Chairman Mr. Phan Van Thang, were attended by members of the Advisory Council, General Directors and a large number of employees working on those projects’s sites. The meeting took place in an open atmosphere, which all participants frankly admitted advantages and disadvantages in the implementing projects over the past time.
This is an opportunity for members of the Advisory Council and leaders of DCG to listen to employees and partners to share the current advantages and difficulties and propose solutions.
The meeting in Ha Long (Quang Ninh)
In Quang Ninh, many employees said that most of them only built tunnels before being assigned to build brỉdges as a result of many difficulties due to lack of experience that they faced. However, they have made hard effort to gain experience to better complete the assigned work. And now, they are confident that they can independently implement projects in the future. In addition, some others suggested paying employees working on the site a fixed rate in order to increase labor productivity.
Listening to comments of participants
Regarding the projects in Quang Ninh, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Chung - Vice Chairman of the Advisory Council said that bridge construction was their new field. Therefore, he proposed that DCG esstablished an operating model as the general contractor for works built with the state budget. “A work in a tourist area needs aesthetics. DCG should strengthen itself as the leader of the contractors consortium by transparent and innovative management”, emphasized Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Chung.
Mr. Ngo Van Quy, a member of the Advisory Council, said that these are projects strictly controlled due to using the state budget. Therefore, the financial management must be transparent and scientific to avoid damage to themselves.
The construction of Cua Luc 1 Bridge project has reached 40% with 4 main construction groups. That of Cua Luc 3 Bridge was divided into 6 construction groups.
Meanwhile, at Thung Thi Tunnel of Package 12-XL, many leaders and other participants frankly commented weaknesses such as being passive in work, incorrect assessment of machinery condition. Some others suggested the supplement of qualified pemployees from other projects.
The meeting at the Package 12-XL
Mr. Phan Van Thang received the above comments and requested the projects’s BOM to meet, promulgate regulations and commit to building progress. Besides, control the quality and progress to evaluate and make timely adjustments to avoid negative impacts on the project", Mr. Phan Van Thang said.
