On October 20, 2020, Deo Ca Group and subsidiaries in all parts of the country have simultaneously responded positively to the program launched by the Group's Trade Union, joining hands to help the people of Central Vietnam remedy the consequences of the floods.
With the spirit of solidarity “the leaves protect tattered ones”, in order to share difficulties with the people in the Central region who are the victims of natural disaster, the Trade Union's calling has received a great response. Chairman Ho Minh Hoang asked the Trade Union to come directly to people in flooded areas.
In the congratulatory letter on Vietnamese Women's Day this year, the leader of Deo Ca Group gave encouragement to share with female staff whose families in the Central region are suffering the disastrous consequences of the flood. “We will stand together to overcome this difficulty”, he affirmed.
On October 20, in the congratulation for Group’s female staff in Hanoi office, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Chung said: “This year, we do not give each woman a bouquet of flowers but spend a sympathetic bouquet for the Central region, where the mothers, wives, sisters and children are facing a historic flood. We contribute a small part for the people in the Central region will soon overcome difficulties”.
Deo Ca Group’s Trade Union will directly visit to encourage and give the donated gifts to the people in flooded areas. Many officials and employees have voluntarily registered for this meaningful activity with the organizers to enter the flooded areas.
Over the past few days, the continuous and prolonged heavy rains and floods have severely affected some central provinces, especially in the provinces of Thua Thien-Hue and Quang Tri, the floods have exceeded the recorded flood levels. According to the quick report of the Central Steering Committee on natural disaster prevention, the heavy rains from October 6 to the end of October 18 in the central provinces caused 84 deaths, 38 people were missing, and 52,933 houses were flooded (Quang Tri: 41,878 houses; Quang Binh: 11,055 houses), 24,734 houses were damaged or collapsed. About 924ha of rice, 106,616ha of crops were flooded and damaged, 461,627 cattle and poultry died and swept away.
