On the morning of June 20, the Hai Van Tunnel Project Management Board launched an emulation of "90 days to finish Hai Van 2 tunnel ". The emulation period is from June 27th, 2019 to September 25th, 2019.

Hai Van 2 tunnel is a road tunnel parallel to the Hai Van 1 tunnel axis, 30 m apart from each other. Hai Van 1 tunnel currently has 2 lanes of traffic in the opposite direction. Once Hai Van 2 tunnel is put into operation, each tunnel will be for one-way driving to limit traffic accidents.
The Hai Van tunnel construction was started in April 2016, and has completed the first phase in August 2017 and is implementing phase 2 (expanding the Hai Van 2 tunnel tube).
At the launching ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tan Dong, Deputy General Director of Deoca Investment Joint Stock Company, said: “The 90-day emulation movement is to encourage and kindle the pride for those who are working at the construction site both individually and collectively when implementing the construction of a national key project and to keep the tradition of the Deoca tunnel workers, which is always on time or complete ahead of the schedule”.
The Organizing Committee has established criteria for this emulation which are: Compliance with labor safety and sanitation process, ensuring 100% work safety; achieving good construction quality, complete on schedule as committed, and strive to open to traffic on September 25th, 2019; each construction company, each department must have at least one innovation for technical improvement and labor management so as to create a good working environment for workers as well as improve construction productivity ...
