On December 24, the People's Committee of Cao Bang province held an examination for architectural design plans for a number of work items under Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway Project.
Overview of the competition for architectural design options
Cao Bang province has invited leading architects and famous experts in many different fields to Examination Council.
The Council has listened carefully to the presentation of the design plans of 5 consulting units including A2Z, Hoang Long, Dai Phong, Center for transport science and technology and VTCO investment Co., Ltd.

Mr. Lai Xuan Mon - Secretary of the Cao Bang province, Head of the Steering Committee of Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway project expressed his pleasure when the organizers received many quality architectural options from domestic and foreign consulting units. “The architectural plans have been prepared meticulously and carefully…Cao Bang province trust in the Examination Council to choose the most unique, most creative and most beautiful architectural options, with the most reasonable price”, Mr. Lai Xuan Mon said.
Prof.Dr.Arch Nguyen Quoc Thong, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Association of Architects, Chairman of the Examination Council said that “This is a special, unique route, a cultural symbol of Cao Bang, expressing the aspirations of leaders and people of Cao Bang”.
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Nam, former Dean of the Faculty of Architecture of the National University of Civil Engineering also said that based on the requirements of the competition, the province's desire is not only to make a traffic route, but to show off the beauty of Cao Bang.
Journalist Ho Quang Loi - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, was impressed by A2Z consultant's plan, saying: “The project has expressed the values we want to honor, in terms of y history, culture, and the origin of the Vietnamese revolution”.

The design plan of A2Z Company was awarded A Prize by the Examination Council for achieving many criteria of the contest such as creativity, originality, modernity and identity.
Sao La bridge design of VTCO Company
Cao Bang has many famous historical, cultural, revolutionary, and scenic relics. The province is recognized by UNESCO as a global geopark. Cao Bang is determined to develop from tourism because of its great potential that has not been awakened and exploited. The architectural plan competition Dong Dang-Tra Linh Expressway aims to create a highlight, build model works, which is also a unique route of Vietnam.
Mr. Ho Minh Hoang, Chairman of Deo Ca Group, Deputy Project Steering Committee of Dong Dang - Tra Linh said: “Based on the evaluation of the members of the judging committee, the A2Z design team will continue editing and re-presentation to optimize architectural plans”.
According to the investment policy approved by the Government from August 10, 2020, Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway is 115 km long, with a total investment of more than 20,000 billion VND.
The section goes through Van Lang and Trang Dinh district of Lang Son is 52km. The section in Cao Bang province is about 63 km long, passing through Thach An district, Quang Hoa district, Trung Khanh district (former Tra Linh district), Hoa An district and Cao Bang city.
The starting point is at the intersection of Tan Thanh border gate, Coc Nam border gate, connecting to Huu Nghi - Chi Lang in Lang Son province. The end point is at the intersection of the road entering Tra Linh border gate economic zone and the national highway 34, belonging to Tra Linh border gate economic zone, Cao Bang province.
