To enter November 2021, Deo Ca’s people advanced another important milestone at the tunnel through Thung Thi mountain (Thanh Hoa province) when they have just successfully carried out the geological exploration drilling of the right tunnel with a length of 8.8m.
Thung Thi tunnel (Ha Linh commune, Ha Trung district, Thanh Hoa province) consists of 2 tunnels with a length of 680m). This is the 12 XL package of the Mai Son – National Highway section 45, the North – South Expressway to the East.
In the heart of Thung Thi mountain
Mr. Ho Dinh Chung – General Director of Deo Ca Group was present in the heart of Thung Thi mountain with the team carrying out geological exploration drilling. Mr Ho Dinh Chung said:“Compared to the tunnels of Deo Ca, Cu Mong, Hai Van, Thung Thi isn’t a tunnel of great length. However, any tunnels is a challenge for the Deo Ca tunnel diggers because the geology of each region is different. Exploration drilling time starts from 6:19’ to 6:53’. After more than 30 minutes of drilling, the drill bit at the North gate finally passed to the South gate with 99% accuracy ( with an error of 2cm )”.
The director of the 12-XL package, and also the chief commander, Mr. Bui Hong Dang said that during the implementation process, everyones has been creative in n how to dig tunnels. “ We have changed the digging method compared to the traditional way, which is to use the method of digging small and large tunnels to create more construction space. This method has made the progress three months faster than the plan approved by the investor.”
The speeding up, safe, scientific and efficient work has been highly appreciated by the Thang Long Project Management Board, The supervision consultant and professional staff highly appreciated the tunnel construction capacity of Deo Ca Group.

This is one of the very encouraging successes because during the construction process in this package was also the time when the epidemic started to break out and become complicated. During that difficult time, the management board strictly managed the personnel problem, so the construction work was never interrupted with 3 shifts/day on the construction site. It is expected that by the end of November 2021, the right tunnel will be officially opened.
