On 26/8/2019, members of the Senior Advisory Board, members of the Board of Directors of the Group, relevant units have organized inspection and assessment of construction schedule at Hai Van tunnel no. 2 and performed the second preliminary of “90-day competition for the inauguration of Hai Van tunnel no. 2”, under the expansion work on Hai Van tunnel.
According to the Management Board of Hai Van tunnel project, the drill work of Hai Van tunnel no. 2 is ahead of schedule with production reaching 67.62% of output. According to the assessment of the Executive Board, with the current boring speed, it is possible to open the tunnel by the end of the coming September.
In particular, regarding tunnel section, the construction of excavation and reinforcement is one month ahead of schedule. The main tunnel excavation and reinforcement work basically will be finished by 25/8/2019; a number of other works such as construction of SS9 station, completion of extension tracks will next be carried out according to commitment and completion is guaranteed before 25/9/2019.
Regarding bridges and roads, basically most of the main works are on schedule according to plan. Some items are behind schedule. The Executive Board asked the investor to be more proactive, focusing on mobilizing more manpower, equipment to make up for the delayed schedule, especially in preparation of some items to be constructed in the coming rainy season.
Also in the second preliminary meeting “90-day competition for the inauguration of Hai Van tunnel no. 2”, Mr. Nguyen Tan Dong, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Deo Ca Group requested all contractors to speed up site cleanup progress so that the inauguration ceremony of the tunnel can be held on the coming 27/9/2019. At the second preliminary, the Executive Board proposed commendation for Mr. Duong Dinh Manh, Director of Executive Board of XL4, XL5 tender packages for having excellent achievements during construction.
Hai Van tunnel no. 2 is a highway tunnel in parallel with the axis of Hai Van tunnel no. 1. Currently Hai Van tunnel no. 1 has 2-lane roadways. When Hai Van tunnel no. 2 goes into operation, each tube shall be reserved for 1 lane only, preventing traffic accidents from happening.
“90-day competition for the inauguration of Hai Van tunnel no. 2” is held to motivate and ignite community and personal pride, taking in the fact that all personnel involved can contribute to a national construction and in turn keeping the tradition of Deo Ca’s tunnel workers to always reach the finish line on or ahead of schedule.
