On May 9, 2020, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh Province, Department of Culture and Sports in collaboration with Deo Ca Group Joint Stock Company held Groundbreaking Ceremony of Nguyen Trung Truc National Hero Temple at Doc Sao in Vinh Hoi village, Cat Hai commune, Phu Cat district.

Groundbreaking ceremony of Hero Nguyen Trung Truc Temple

National hero Nguyen Trung Truc whose real name is Nguyen Van Lich was born in 1838 in Nghe hamlet, Binh Nhut village, Cuu Cu Ha canton, Cuu An district, Tan An “phủ”, Gia Dinh province (now in hamlet 1, Thanh Duc commune, Ben Luc district, Long An province). His former hometown was in Luoi hamlet, Vinh Hoi village, Trung An canton, Phu Cat district, Binh Dinh town (now Vinh Hoi hamlet, Cat Hai commune, Phu Cat district, Binh Dinh province). Nguyen Trung Truc is one of the typical patriotic heroes who participated in the French Resistance since the first years of the French invasion of our country. He is famous for the saying “Only if the Western people uproot all grass on Viet ground then will no more Viet people fight back”.

Nguyen Trung Truc temple has main items including: parking yard and front fence; Triple gate; Worship ceremony stage; The main temple; Management house, souvenir and toilet area; Worship offering house; Screen painting; Scenic house; Stone steles house; Souvenir trees garden; The system of internal courtyards and interior of the worship space is designed and built in an appropriate scale, in harmony with the space and overall architecture of the regional landscape, contributing to honoring the cultural and historical value of this significant work.

The project of constructing Nguyen Trung Truc national hero temple has a total investment of about 14 billion VND from the funding of Deo Ca Group Joint Stock Company. The construction is invested by the Department of Culture and Sports and expected to be completed in October 2020.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Luu Xuan Thuy - Standing Vice Chairman of the Board of Management expressed his honor and pride when Deo Ca was the sponsoring firm of the national hero temple.

“Deo Ca Group has built and completed Cu Mong tunnel connecting National Road 1A to minimize traffic accidents through Cu Mong pass; sponsoring the construction of Ngo May heroic martyrs' memorial house; sponsoring the construction of Cat Thang 2 Primary School in Phu Cat District, ... nothing is more practical than building temple of a national hero right in his native land”, Mr. Luu Xuan Thuy said.

Deputy Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh emphasized: “The investment in building the Nguyen Trung Truc national hero temple has great significance for the generations today and in the future”.
