On the morning of September 20, the very first bores were drilled to begin opening the northern left branch of tunnel 1 under Dong Dang – Tra Linh expressway project.
The tunnel portal opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyen Tuan Nam, Secretary of the Trang Dinh District Party Committee, representatives of Dong Dang – Tra Linh Expressway Joint Stock Company (the project enterprise), and contractors responsible for this section of the project.
Tunnel 1 (Km49+900) currently has 15 construction equipments operating on site.
According to the report from the project enterprise, regarding site clearance for the entire project, local authorities have handed over 51.533 km out of 93.35 km. Specifically, Cao Bang province has handed over 35.365 km out of 41.55 km (achieving 85.11%), while Lang Son province has delivered 16.168 km out of 51.8 km (achieving 31.2%).
Leaders of Trang Dinh district and Dong Dang – Tra Linh Expressway Joint Stock Company attended the tunnel portal opening ceremony.
Dong Dang – Tra Linh expressway project currently has a total of 25 construction fronts, which are simultaneously initiated and organized according to the sections of land that have been handed over. The project has also mobilized a total of 284 machines and equipment, along with 768 personnel (engineers and workers).
First bores drilled to open tunnel 1.
Earlier, since June, the consortium had opened the portal of tunnel 2 (western right branch) as part of Dong Dang – Tra Linh expressway project in phase 1. As of now, the construction of more than 100 m of the western right branch of tunnel 2 has been completed, meeting the scheduled progress. This is the first tunnel branch to reach the 100-meter milestone across the entire project.
The tunnel portal milestone plays an important role in allowing contractors to concentrate on the interior construction of the tunnel, especially during the peak rainy season in Cao Bang province at this time.
Dong Dang – Tra Linh expressway project spans a total length of 121 km, with investments divided into two phases. Phase 1 of the project covers over 93 km, with a total investment of 556.4 million USD under the PPP model.
The starting point is at Tan Thanh border gate interchange (Van Lang district, Lang Son province), and the endpoint is at National Highway 3 interchange (Chi Thao commune, Quang Hoa district, Cao Bang province). DEOCA Group is the lead investor in the consortium implementing phase 1 of the project.
The completion of Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway plays a key role in enhancing domestic and international trade connectivity, contributing to the improvement of the local and regional competitiveness, and driving economic, social, and national security development.
