On the afternoon of December 10, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh inspected the site of Mai Son project - National Highway 45 (Thanh Hoa) and Nghi Son - Dien Chau project (Nghe An), which are 2 out of 11 component projects of the 654 km long expressway passing through 13 provinces and cities.
Through the actual inspection at the construction site, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh noted the ministries, branches, localities, contractors, construction units have made a lot of efforts and achieved positive results and changes on the construction site. Despite the effect of the epidemic, the construction of the expressway was still guaranteed and speeded up.
Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh asked construction units to urgently put all efforts into construction, take advantage of favorable weather to exceed the schedule, and make contingency plans for the difficult project implementation in the rainy season. Localities focus on supporting and creating conditions for contractors during the construction process, solving all difficulties so that the two projects can be completed on schedule.
On the morning of December 11, 2021, the contractor of Deo Ca Group performed the ceremony of pressing the button to open the remaining pipe, Thung Thi tunnel (package 12-XL) of the Mai Son - National Highway 45 highway project. The whole package of Thung Thi tunnel has a length of 6.6km, including 6km of road, two tunnels of 680m long and works on the route with the starting point at Km301+000 in Ha Tien commune, the end point at Km306+760 in Ha Linh commune (Ha Trung district, Thanh Hoa) is the largest tunnel through the mountain of the project.
The fact that Deo Ca Group exceeded the progress of digging Thung Thi tunnel for 3 months in the context of the negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic was highly appreciated by the central leadership, the investor and Thanh Hoa province.
Thung Thi tunnel was one of the complex items, requiring the highest technical requirements of the entire Mai Son - National Highway 45 expressway. The tunnel was constructed by the NATM method. After drilling for blasting, the engineers made the arch for the tunnel in combination with shotcrete... to create a self-supporting structure. This is a permanent construction with a scale of 6 lanes, fully arranged lighting and ventilation systems in the tunnel. Currently, the bidding package is organizing 8 construction projects, including 4 roads, 2 bridge and 2 tunnels. In order to fully implement the work, the Project Management Board deployed 3 shifts a day with many modern and specialized machines and equipment to ensure the schedule of the bidding package.

With the capacity and experience of successfully implementing Co Ma, Deo Ca, Cu Mong road tunnels and Hai Van tunnel - the longest road tunnel in Southeast Asia, Deo Ca Group affirmed that it will complete the Thung Thi tunnel package with quality and exceed the set schedule.
