Nui Vung tunnel, constructed using the NATM method, is 2.2km long and is known for its flexibility and safety compared to traditional tunneling technologies. This method has also been applied successfully in other tunnels, including Deo Ca, Co Ma, Cu Mong, Hai Van, Thung Thi, and Quang Ninh coastal tunnels.
According to Mr. Dang Tien Thang, Deputy Director of Cam Lam - Vinh Hao Joint Stock Company, the south of the tunnel encountered a weak geological zone, different from the approved design documents.

With accurate coordination, two excavations from the north and south have merged, marking a significant milestone towards completing the project before April 30, 2024.
