In order to meet the progress of the Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway by the end of 2020, hundreds of people from the Board of Directors, managers, engineers and workers has accepted to celebrate Tet away from home, cling to construction sites, constructed throughout Tet. All are unanimous in determination of speeding up and completing important routes of the Mekong Delta.

With the responsibility spirit “One day late of the project is one more day owed to the people”, all employees have made efforts and determination with the spirit of speedy construction to bring the project to the destination on time by the end of 2020, to resolve a part of the traffic congestion problem on the occasion of Tan Suu New Year 2021 and complete and put into operation in 2021 when the weak ground is handled.

As the finishing time came closer, there were only 8 months left for construction, all the employees in the project had to work hard. Not only facing the strain of progress, quality, capital constraints, the managers, workers here is also facing the risk of life insecurity.

On February 12, the security team No.3 of Thang Long - Deo Ca Logistics Security Service Joint Stock Company (the unit hired by the investor to patrol and protect the project) patrolled on the route according to the plan approved by the investor and simultanuously filmed, took photos of the construction work to report. A man named Phong has offended and prevented the guards from filming, taking photos. After that, Phong took a homemade machete to slash Mr. Nguyen Minh Nhut (an employee of the security and order patrol team No. 3), causing serious injuries that require emergency aid at Cho Ray Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City).

After the incident, the investor quickly brought Mr. Nhut to Cho Ray Hospital, and report to My Duc Tay Commune Police, Cai Be District Police and PA04 Tien Giang Provincial Police to work together. Previously in July 2019, Trung Luong BOT Joint Stock Company - My Thuan (project enterprise) and the Police Department of Tien Giang province, the Management Board of Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project of Tien Giang Province (Project Management Unit) have signed a coordination regulation to ensure order and security for Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway project.

Accordingly, Tien Giang Provincial Police will coordinate with the Project Management Unit and the project enterprise to handle law violations and actions affecting the project implementation process. Tien Giang Provincial Police are also accountable of ensuring traffic order and safety during the process of transportation, installation and construction of project facilities. Therefore, right after the incident, the police force of Tien Giang province and Cai Be district were present promptly, showing their responsibility according to the coordination regulations.

“Our security force is responsible for the safety of Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway project. The security guards must work almost 24/24 hours at the construction site together with the hustle of constractors constructing at the site. In addition to the hard work like many others at the construction site, security guards force also faced with life-threatening, the incident on February 12 was a proof. On the patrol route, a man with a machete suddenly slashed a security guard on his head and nearly broke his arm. Despite of many dangers, the security force was still resolute and brave to continue carrying out the mission that the project entrusted to. The security guards determined together with investors and contractors to carry the project to the finish line on time” - Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, General Director of Thang Long - Deo Ca Logistics Protection Service Company said.

According to Mr. Hieu, at present, in order to protect and strictly check the construction process, the whole project has nearly 100 guards taking turns working 24/24 hours on the construction site. In addition, the investor also installed surveillance cameras on the entire route.

Mr. Nguyen Tan Dong, General Director of Trung Luong - My Thuan BOT Joint Stock Company, emphasized: “In order to complete the expected road of more than 21 million people in the Mekong Delta, the security force here sacrificed their own joys to cling to the site, not hesitate to work all day and night. Although facing the pressure of time, progress, quality and even life safety, the brothers still do not falter, we are always willing to cope with all difficulties, determined to put the project into operattion at the end of the year. Throughout this, the authorities are also expected to involve in, appropriately handle and punish in accordance with the law on temerarious person, endangering the task force on the national key construction site”.
