Despite difficulties, many businesses remain committed to ensuring sufficient salaries for workers during leaves of social distancing against Covid-19 epidemic.
According to Hanoi Social Insurance, up to now, the number of enterprises reducing over 50% of labor is 4,727 firms with 35,658 employees; 22 companies have been certified by the Labor, Agency of War Invalids and Social Affairs to suspend the payment for retirement and survivorship fund but have not submitted the dossier to the social insurance agency. The number of units that have temporarily stopped making contributions to the retirement and survivorship fund from April 2020 is 02 units with 21 employees.
Particularly in HCMC, up to now, about 78,500 workers, workers and preschool teachers have been unemployed due to the Covid-19 disease epidemic. With an initial support of about VND 236 billion, the support level for workers, laborers, preschool teachers are 1 million VND/person/month in 3 months (from April to June).
With such a situation, any enterprise that still ensures income and life for workers during the period of isolation and social distancing is a valuable effort.

The results from a recent survey of NEU show that businesses have had specific solutions to cope with the difficulties caused by the impact of the pandemic. 65.5% of enterprises have to reduce regular operating expenses, 35.3% of enterprises reduce labor, 34.0% have to reduce salary and 34.5% of enterprises have to give unpaid leave; 44.7% of businesses cut down the scale of production and business; 34.7% of businesses choose to suspend production and business activities to wait the difficult times over and 15.1% of enterprises change their production and business forms to suit the new context.
