The Government Office has just announced the conclusion of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at his inspection visit of Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway project.

The conclusion notice clearly stated that the investment in synchronous connection of the expressway project from Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho is extremely necessary, not only improving the efficiency of exploitation but also creating motivation for the development of Mekong Delta region, becoming an additional important motivation, early solving the urgent difficulties regarding climate change and saltwater intrusion are taking place in this area.

The Prime Minister praised the efforts of Tien Giang Provincial People Committee (PPC), Ministry of Transport, State Bank of Vietnam, commercial banks, investors, constractors, consulting units and relevant ministries and agencies in the implementation of Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway project. So far, more than 35% of the work has been completed. Besides, Chairman of Tien Giang PPC has directed the work of site clearance, handing 100% of ground to the construction units.

In order to fulfill the goal of connecting the route in 2020 and putting in official use in 2021 with high quality and legality, Prime Minister asked Tien Giang PPC to soon disburse the rest of state budget. The investor is responsible for managing and using state budget capital properly and effectively.

Tien Giang PPC is responsible for clearing obstacles on material transportation routes caused by salinity intrusion and take priority solutions to ensure the source of materials to serve the project construction.

Ministry of Transport urgently prepares and implements the plan on toll collection of Ho Chi Minh - Trung Luong expressway under the direction of Prime Minister in Document No. 9311/VPCP-CN dated October 11, 2019 to reduce traffic congestion and accidents on this route; presiding over and coordinating with the related agencies in proposing to change the investment form for My Thuan - Can Tho project and applying the form of contractor nominaton; at the same time, speeding up the construction progress of My Thuan 2 Bridge, ensuring the synchronous traffic schedule with Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway project, promoting investment efficiency.
