3 evenings a week, DEOCA Group employees at the Khe Net railway tunnel project (Huong Hoa, Quang Binh) gather at the executive board office for English club activities. Right on the project site is a vibrant, valuable, practical foreign language club.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Song - Director of the Management Board of the XL01 bidding package, said that during the work process, the team had to regularly contact supervision consulting partners and joint venture contractors, who were mainly Korean and spoke English. English is the primary language when exchanging work.

“To better meet work needs, along with the eager-to-learn spirit of our employees and the encouragement of the Group's leaders, we have proactively established a club to improve knowledge and English communication skills for you", Mr. Song said.

The club is called "Khe Net's English Club" and has an instructor currently an interpreter at the project. Mr. Nguyen Dai Duong, an interpreter who directly guides club members, said that the curriculum is built based on practical needs, with words from daily activities related to the construction industry, construction, railways, etc., to meet our colleagues' daily communication and work needs.

“In general, the students all learned quite well, the classroom atmosphere was fun, exciting, and discussions were lively. "Stronger" students can tutor and correct weaker students right in class. In addition, we connect and interact with foreigners working on the project so that they can interact more and confidently apply foreign languages," Mr. Duong said.

Mr. Duong commented that there are some difficulties such as uneven student qualifications, regional differences leading to difficulty correcting pronunciation, and lessons being held after working hours under the harsh weather of the Central region. However, instructors and students are determined to ensure quality learning.

Mr. Tran Manh Dung, Internal Technical Officer, is one of the students at the club, along with 15 other employees, who are participating in improving their communication skills in English and learning more work-related vocabulary. “We aim to no longer rely on interpreters when working with foreign partners. Furthermore, we hope that the knowledge and skills at this club will be a stepping stone for us to confidently contribute to the Group's upcoming projects with foreign elements," Mr. Dung shared.

Club members strive to solve difficulties in studying.

In the coming time, the Club will continue to expand its scale to all employees in the system working on the project.

With the viewpoint that "Knowledge creates value," DEOCA Group always creates conditions for employees to study and improve their knowledge and professional skills. Many policies and training programs are organized to train human resources with deep, broad, and practical knowledge, ready to participate in developing Vietnam's transportation infrastructure industry.
