According to the report from the Executive Board of the package, the contractor consortium has mobilized 650 personnel, with more than 200 pieces of machinery and equipment, and has simultaneously deployed 15 construction fronts, including 6 for tunnel and 9 for bridge and road. The 2024 production plan is expected to meet the proposed schedule. In 2025, the disbursement of state capital is expected to reach approximately 39 million USD.
Regarding Phuong Hoang tunnel section, the left and right tunnels have achieved 667.3/1705 meters and 689.4/1700 meters of construction, respectively. The contractor’s team is working in “3 shifts, 4 crews” to accelerate blasting, tunnel drilling, and foundation excavation. The tunnel is expected to be completed by the end of November 2025.
With relentless efforts to overcome challenges, the project is expected to achieve key objectives, ensuring progress and quality as planned.
Although achieving positive results, the project still faces many challenges in site clearance at the eastern portal of Phuong Hoang tunnel and the scarcity of high-quality sand required for construction.
The Executive Board of package XL01 is actively seeking additional material sources while maximizing the use of available resources. The unit is also coordinating the transportation of soil and rock for construction, as well as road improvements to facilitate the movement of equipment and vehicles to the site. Several supporting works, including the construction of service roads and worker camps, are being accelerated to ensure the timely mobilization of personnel and machinery once site clearance is completed. The Executive Board affirmed that the consortium is committed to implementing comprehensive construction solutions to meet the project's progress and quality by 2027 as planned.
