On the morning of January 5, 2025, in Kim Ngoc commune, Bac Quang district, Ha Giang province, the People's Committee of Bac Quang district held the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Tan Dien Bridge. The new Tan Dien Bridge project is being implemented to replace the old suspension bridge, addressing the need for safer travel and promoting socio-economic development in the region. The Tan Dien Bridge is being newly constructed with a permanent reinforced concrete structure, spanning 120 meters in length and 4 meters in width, ensuring its capacity to accommodate high traffic volumes.

This project will serve the travel needs of nearly 400 households in Vang, Tan Dien, and Nam Vac hamlets, connecting Kim Ngoc commune and Vo Diem commune, contributing to the promotion of trade and regional economic development. The project has a total investment of nearly 15 billion VND, funded by the Lam Dong provincial budget (12 billion VND) and DEOCA Group (3 billion VND). The Bac Quang district Construction Investment Project Management Board is the investor representative, while DEOCA Group is the construction contractor for this project.

Previously, since Typhoon Yagi swept through Ha Giang province, this aging bridge suffered severe damage, posing a potential traffic safety risks to local residents.

A representative of DEOCA Group stated that the Group had conducted on-site surveys, assessed the current condition of the Tan Dien Bridge, and developed construction and design plans, while also jointly supporting the project's implementation costs. Through evaluations, it was determined that the bridge had numerous cracks in the pier foundations and severed suspension cables at the tower base, posing significant dangers to both residents and vehicles crossing the bridge.

“DEOCA Group has mobilized resources and machinery to be ready for immediate construction following the groundbreaking ceremony, committing to completing the project on schedule and meeting the expectations of the local community”, the enterprise representative said.

Representatives from the investor, construction contractor, design, and supervision teams performed the groundbreaking ceremony.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung, a resident of Kim Ngoc commune, shared her concern: “The old bridge was built in 1999 and has now severely deteriorated. We feel very worried when crossing it. Vehicles wobble and sway dangerously, especially after storms and floods which have further damaged the bridge”.
