On the afternoon of April 22, Trung Luong - My Thuan BOT Joint Stock Company had an online meeting with relevant agencies of the Ministry of Transport (MOT) and Tien Giang province to inform about the project progress, especially the case of 310m³ crushed stones used for graded aggregate is causing a lot of negative public opinion.

From the report of the MOT, Prime Minister has directed tighter supervision for this project.

At the meeting, Mr. Tran Van Bon - Director of Tien Giang Department of Transport - acknowledged “recently we have a misunderstanding related to construction materials”.

Mr. Bon said that the department reported to Tien Giang Province People's Committee (PPC) basing on the investor's report, and the PPC sent report to MOT, from which the MOT reported to the Prime Minister, which according to Mr. Bon “all took from your words”.

“Once again, I assert that until now quality of project is still guaranteed, in accordance with the project process. We could all take a lesson from this case, because the carelessness of people sitting here create confusion. What we need is how to to ensure quality and progress of the project.” - Mr. Bon said.

Mr. Dinh Manh Duc - Deputy Director of Transport engineering construction and quality management bureau (TCQM - MOT) – take the reason from the citation of the report written by Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, Deputy General Director of Trung Luong - My Thuan BOT Joint Stock Company, sent to MOT about the detection of crushed stones from the material supplier which is not in accordance with the request of the investor and the handling result of the investor, from which MOT has sent a written report to the Prime Minister.

Ho Minh Hoang, Chairman of the Board of Management of Trung Luong - My Thuan BOT Joint Stock Company acknowledged: “It is true that the report should be written a little more clearly, leading to the story you (Mr. Bon - Reporter), Ministry of Transport reported to the Government.

The report did not clearly lead to misunderstandings, but I affirm that we did in accordance with the process. We will learn from experience, there will be coordination in the future work related to quality issues, we will directly exchange if there is any problem, information must be accurate”.

Mr. Ho Nghia Dung, former Minister of Transport, said that the mistake is only from the material supplier for the test stage of superimposed loading, when it is discovered, the investor has handled properly.

“When building big project, certain technical problems can always happen, the issue is how do we work together with investors, state agencies to solve the problem. Is this a big problem? I think it's not. When reporting to Prime Minister must consider whether it is worth or not. I recommended that Mr. Dinh Manh Duc - Deputy Director of the Transport engineering construction and quality management bureau (TCQM), MOT should reconsider. This issue absolutely can be handled together by the TCQM and investor, MOT should also learn experience to solve such things”, Mr. Dung said.
