On 12th April 2018, at the North gate of Deo Ca road tunnel, the Ministry of Construction and Deo Ca Investment Joint Stock Company has solemnly held the ceremony to award Deo Ca road tunnel the National Significant Work title on the occasion of celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Construction Industry in Vietnam (29.4.1958 – 29.4.2018).
Participating at the ceremony are Mr. Le Quang Hung – Vice Minister of Ministry of Construction; Mr. Huynh Tan Viet – Secretary of Phu Yen Committee; Mr. Pham Phuc Hieu – Deputy Director of the Transport Engineering Construction and Quality Management Bureau, Ministry of Transport; and representatives from many related agencies.
In order to be titled the National Significant Work, Deo Ca road tunnel project has passed the test, meeting the selection criteria of the construction industry in terms of scale, quality and importance to the development of the country…
With the initial investment of more than 15.600 billion, by critical thinking, Deo Ca Investment Joint Stock Company has boldly adjusted the route direction during its construction, in order to reduce the length of two tunnels from 5,7km to 4,1km, thus significantly reduced the invested capital by 4.200 billion, while at the same time reduced construction time, labor cost, contributing to earlier completion than the initial schedule.
The fact that total time to pass the tunnel has been shorten from 45 minutes to more than 10 minutes has thoroughly resolved and eliminated the dangerous spot of traffic jams, especially during the storms, there is no longer traffic paralysis in Deo Ca. Moreover, Deo Ca tunnel also help to improve the capacity of road transport, facilitating traffic between the Central and South of Vietnam, especially between Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa provinces. In addition, Deo Ca tunnel creates important connection with the key economic region in the South East area, thus create momentum for the development of industry, services and tourism in the Central Coast area; creating motivation for social and economic development, ensuring national security and defense in the Central and Central Highlands of Vietnam.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Quang Hung – Vice Minister of Ministry of Construction congratulated Deo Ca Company on its honor that the Deo Ca road tunnel was selected by the Ministry of Construction as one of the 5 works titled National Significant Work in Vietnam. Mr. Hung stated that Deo Ca tunnel project is considered the first big project of Vietnamese engineers and workers. This is the first tunnel project done by Vietnamese people, approving a great growth of Vietnamese staffs, workers and engineers.
