On January 4, 2021, the Government delegation led by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc conducted experiments on the entire of Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway and attend the connection ceremony of the route.
This is the 4th visit of the head of the Government to Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway Project to inspect, promote the progress and encourage officials, engineers and workers who are directly constructing at the construction site.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc highly appreciated the capacity of Deo Ca Group Joint Stock Company through the works that the unit has carried out, such as Deo Ca project including Deo Ca tunnel, Co Ma tunnel; Cu Mong tunnel, Hai Van 2 tunnel; Bac Giang - Lang Son Expressway Project and Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway Project,...
“Our will and energy, our support for these enterprises to do the best in the works with the ability of the Vietnamese people, for a prosperous Vietnam, the international enterprises like Deo Ca Group is indispensable”, the Prime Minister emphasized.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc also commended officials and workers on the construction site for working 3 shifts through Tet holidays and throughout COVID-19 epidemic so that the project could be completed soon. The Prime Minister stated that the workload of phase 2 is still very large, and must make more efforts to inaugurate this international standard road in 2021. The head of the Government expressed his support and will directly handle the proposal of Trung Luong-My Thuan BOT Joint Stock Company on capital recovery.

Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway started construction in November 2009, after nearly 10 years of stagnation, the progress only reached 10% of the volume. In March 2019, the consortium of investors invited Deo Ca Group to participate in project management and administration. After more than 1,5 years of restarting (in April 2019), with the efforts of thousands of officials, engineers and workers had work hard with the spirit of "three throughout": "through the night"; “throughout holiday”; "throughout epidemic". Up to now, Deo Ca Group has fulfilled its commitment under the direction of the Prime Minister to open the project route before December 31, 2020.
With the motto "If you want to connect the real road, first you connect the responsibility road", "One day the project prolonged, one more day we are indebted to people", the project enterprise has attached responsibility to itself and other involved parties are Ministry of Transport (Transportation), the People's Committee of Tien Giang Province, the funding banks and Deo Ca Group, together to jointly determine the responsibility before the Government and people to carry out the work. Investors, contractors and supervision consulting agencies worked day and night to overcome difficulties, find opportunities in challenges, turn skepticism into motivation, and regain trust with the people for the project.
Up to this point, the project has completed more than 75% of the construction volume, more than 51km of the main route is connected, some sections on the main route have been paved with crushed stone, asphalt concrete. The bridges on the route have completed deck slab, the leading paths of bridges have been filled with granular materials and spliced. The project is continuing to construct the remaining items such as: road surface structure, traffic safety system, lighting, intelligent traffic control system (ITS), toll station, etc.

The connecting of Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway not only confirms an important milestone as a premise to complete the project in 2021, but at this time, the route can temporarily open to traffic in order to reduce traffic jams for National road 1A during Lunar New Year.
