Theories of contradictions and conflicts in the workplaces
In the context of multicultural integration in general, the industrial environment, the changed speed of society is tempestuous, resulting in the human interaction increasingly. The work pressure leads to the contradictions and conflicts anytime, anywhere, at many different levels, between individuals and departments resulting in many consequences.
So, which causes contradictions? Where do conflicts come from? What are the consequences to individuals and organizations? What are the solutions?
Most of the causes of contradictions are due to the poor communication skills, dissent, feeling of violated interests, contention, jealousy, offended honor, difference between a thought and a belief. Most of pairs of contradiction and conflict are between employee and employees, employees and superiors, former and new employees, this division and another, internal and external conflicts.
Contradiction and conflict have two sides. The negative side makes reduction of labor productivity; declination of solidarity, coordination and creativity; increase of jealousy, hostility to each other; waste of energy; affecting the cultural background, brand reputation image of individuals and organizations.
In addition to the negative side, contradiction and conflict also have a positive side as promotion of development, if lack of negative presence, it is easy to make people complacent, uncreative. A solution to mitigate the contradictions and conflicts is always to have a positive attitude to all problems; have listening and speaking skills; know how to control your emotions; recognize the objective issues, provide with the sound arguments and convincing logical arguments. In addition, in case conflicts arise, individuals involved should have their attitudes of learning, calmness, tolerance, and withdrawal as necessary.
Promote training to enhance the conflict management skills and increase personal value
From the aforementioned theories, training is set forth so as to mitigate the negative side and increase positive values are necessary in our system.
And, improvement of conflict management skills in the workplace to promote the rising and creativity in work to get high efficiency is one of the key training contents for the officials and staff throughout the Group in the near future.
Last year, many training courses were held in the Group system, exchanging and sharing many useful contents such as: “Communication skills, behavior & problem solving”, “Customer service skills”, “Improvement of personal productivity”, “Leadership and management skills”, etc. All of those training programs have received positive responses from officials and staff. The efficiency of more and more increased labor productivity are improved, accordingly.
