On September 13–14, 2025, at its Hanoi Office, DEOCA Group, in collaboration with SAFI Services JSC, organized an on-site first aid training program for secretaries, drivers, and office specialists of the Group’s Board of Directors in the Northern region. The training was conducted in accordance with the standards of the American Heart Association (AHA).

The program was taught by experienced doctors from SAFI, including Dr. Nguyen Van Binh, Dr. Dao Trung Hai, and Dr. Phan Thi Vinh, along with their teaching assistants.

Alongside theoretical knowledge, the program was designed around real-life situations that could occur at work or in daily life, with a strong emphasis on practical skills. The objective was to equip trainees with essential first aid principles and prepare them to respond to emergencies such as cardiac arrest, stroke, trauma, or anaphylactic shock.

The session began with a practical exercise on chest compressions based on the trainees' initial understanding, which was followed by a lecture on the theory and proper techniques. According to Dr. Nguyen Van Binh, sudden cardiac arrest can happen anytime, anywhere. Relying solely on professional emergency teams may result in missing the “golden hour.” Therefore, timely first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) performed on the spot are crucial, determining the victim’s chance of survival.

“In other emergencies like strokes or traumatic injuries, improper handling by an untrained person may worsen the situation. In contrast, a correct procedure can significantly increase a victim's survival chances and minimize long-term damage,” Dr. Binh emphasized.

The session also covered skills such as scene assessment, calling for help, preventing exposure to bodily fluids, assessing victims’ conditions, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), using an automated external defibrillator (AED), bleeding control, bandaging wounds, splinting broken bones, and handling head, neck, and spine injuries, as well as patient transport.

Trainees were also taught how to bandage wounds, remove airway obstructions, and properly measure blood pressure. The program concluded with a simulation exercise, where participants were divided into 4 groups and worked together to apply their knowledge and skills to realistic scenarios.

At the end of the course, participants reviewed, tested their skills, and engaged in a Q&A session, which ensured they had a firm grasp of both theory and practice. The instructors praised the trainees' serious commitment to learning and confirmed that all participants met the requirements for program completion. They will receive an AHA-standard first aid certificate upon completing the course.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Thinh, a member of the Chairman of the Board of Director's Secretary team, shared that the course was highly meaningful, helping him gain knowledge and confidence in responding to medical emergencies among those around him, especially given his role of frequently accompanying the Group's leaders.

“After this course, I realized that in emergencies, having the right knowledge and skills is essential. A single correct action at the critical moment can save another person’s life,” said Dang Thi Thuy Dung, an Office Specialist of the Board of Directors.

First-aid training programs for employees are regularly organized at DEOCA Group's offices and project sites. They aim to build a workforce with basic medical knowledge and a strong sense of responsibility, who are ready to provide first aid and support to their colleagues in unexpected health emergencies at work or in daily life.
