On July 18, 2025 – members of DEOCA from all three regions of Vietnam gathered in Dak Lak province (formerly Phu Yen province) to take part in a series of activities such as teambuilding, cooking and a campfire night, celebrating DEOCA Group’s 40th anniversary under the theme “40 years – Journey through adversity.”

Spreading corporate culture through teambuilding activities

DEOCA Group hosted the 2025 Teambuilding event series and the campfire night program themed “Journey through adversity – The rising era”, featuring activities imbued with the Group’s corporate culture to mark its 40-year milestone.

In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Huu Hung, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, emphasized that corporate culture serves as the “glue” binding members of the organization together into a united team. Therefore, activities that promote this culture are crucial in “deepening” and “broadening” employees’ understanding of the business. The event carried special meaning as it took place at the location that marked the origin of DEOCA Group’s origin and development.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Hung, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, delivered the opening speech of the program.

“Today’s activities recreate the challenging yet glorious journey of those who dared to take the lead, persevered through hardships, and built landmark projects carrying DEOCA’s signature across the country,” Vice Chairman Nguyen Huu Hung shared.

The leaders performed the program launching ceremony.

Participants were divided into eight teams, each representing a meaningful cultural value from Aspiration and Perseverance to Bird hunting, Fishing, and Plowing fields teams - symbolizing short-term, mid-term, and long-term strategies, as well as Determination of mind, direction and quantity teams - symbolizing strategic thinking and discipline.

Participants were divided into eight teams.

The challenge games in the program were designed around the Group’s five development stages, allowing all staff to relive the 40-year journey of hardship and pride.

Stage 1: Nurturing seeds of hope (1985–1998) - Three connected games “Bird Shooting, Fishing, Plowing fields” symbolized a focused growth strategy model, where each team assumes the role of setting long-term strategic direction, balancing strategy with practical execution through short-term actions to achieve goals.

Stage 2: Shaping the enterprise (1999–2008) - The “Bumper Ball” game simulated how the company operated, managed, and developed its workforce in a competitive environment. It also reinforced that corporate culture serves as the foundation for strategic direction, helping the personnel clearly understand core values.

Stage 3: Aspiration to conquer (2009–2017) - Recreated the milestone of constructing Deo Ca tunnel and expanding national highway 1A. Games like “Through the tunnel – across the mountain” and “bridge building”, require tight coordination and effective strategic execution. This reflects how the Group overcomes challenges and mobilizes resources to complete large-scale projects.

Stage 4: Brand positioning (2018–2022) - The “Collaborating through Day-to-day calculation” challenge (Addition, Multiplication, Division, Subtraction) represents gathering resources, multiplying results, dividing responsibilities, and eliminating inefficiencies to optimize strategies and refine the brand identity.

Stage 5: Reaching international horizons (2023–Present) - The ambition to transcend domestic boundaries and integrate globally. The activity of moving across inflatable rafts to capture flags symbolizes the journey of international cooperation, technological adoption, and application in major projects, along with the Group’s strong resilience and adaptability.

The atmosphere at the Teambuilding program was incredibly lively, filled with cheers, laughter, and intense “brain battle” moments during the team challenges. Smooth teamwork, creative tactics, and surprising “turnarounds” brought excitement to all participants.

“Although the activities were physically demanding, the vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere of the games recharged my energy. Through each challenge, I got to know my teammates better and truly appreciate the value of unity, something that we sometimes forget amid daily work routines,” Mr. Nguyen Duy Hoang Anh, a member of the Aspiration team, shared.

This year’s teambuilding program was not just about physical activities but also an opportunity to cultivate team spirit and strengthen bonds among members who come from various departments and units.

The event not only helped participants relax and recharge but also played a significant role in spreading a strong sense of solidarity, awakening pride, and fostering the spirit of “each person as a cultural ambassador” of DEOCA, both now and throughout the journey ahead.

When food is “seasoned” with culture

Alongside the Teambuilding games, the cooking contest was another highlight of the program, bringing a warm and lively atmosphere. It became a space where team spirit, sharing, and strong bonds were expressed intimately through dishes crafted with creativity and dedication by each team.

Eight participating teams presented meals rich in both flavor and meaning, under themes such as “40 years of journey through adversity,” “Family meal – construction site meal,” and “Regional specialties.” Each meal not only reflected skillful preparation and cooperation among team members but also was a way for each team to tell their cultural story of DEOCA’s culture through cuisine.

After completing their meals, the teams took turns presenting the significance of each dish, many of which bore names closely linked to the company’s values and philosophies. These include the braised fish “Perserverance,” chicken rice “Pioneer,” Vietnamese sour soup “Aspiration,” and spring rolls “Determination of quantity,” all reflecting rich culinary identity as well as metaphors for work spirit, coordination, and shared responsibility toward greater goals.

Mr. Ho Minh Hoang, Chairman of the Board of Directors, personally attended and evaluated each team’s presentation, food quality, “conceptual depth" through each dish. The Group’s leader highly praised their seriousness, creativity, and especially their deep understanding of DEOCA’s culture reflected in their dishes.

Campfire night - A moment of reflection and aspiration

After a day full of energy, the campfire night under the theme “DEOCA in the rising era” created a profound and emotional atmosphere. It was an opportunity for all staff members to reflect on the journey so far, ignite their pride, foster a breakthrough spirit, and prepare to enter a new era of stronger development.

Moved by the solemnity of the campfire night, especially at the birthplace of Deo Ca tunnel project - a defining milestone in the Group’s branding, Chairman of the Board of Directors Ho Minh Hoang spoke of the new era that the country is entering, the people of DEOCA must deepen their awareness of their mission and responsibilities to the nation.

“The fire we light tonight is the fire of aspiration, perseverance, and collective determination for the development of our homeland,” he affirmed.

Mr. Ho Minh Hoang - Chairman of the Board of Directors spoke at the campfire night.

Amid the mystical mountain forest, by the warm glow of the campfire, there were no distances or titles - only team spirit, brotherhood, and the united hearts of DEOCA beating as one.

The night closed with the “Flag of glory” ceremony, creating a moment full of emotion and pride. Chairman Ho Minh Hoang placed the flag atop DEOCA peak, representing not only an honor but also vision, ideals, and ambition to grow. This energizes the Group’s aspiration to innovate, firmly develop and affirm its position in Vietnam’s infrastructure sector and beyond.
