After more than 100 days supporting construction of Dong Dang – Tra Linh Expressway, soldiers from Military Region 1 successfully completed their mission under the Dong Khe Campaign 2026, making a significant contribution to the progress of this key project in Cao Bang Province.
On June 29, a closing ceremony was held in That Khe to recognize the Army's support on the construction site and the close cooperation among the military, local authorities, Deo Ca Group, the project company, contractors and workers.

The Dong Khe Campaign 2026 was launched following Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's site inspection of Dong Dang – Tra Linh Expressway and Huu Nghi – Chi Lang Expressway projects on February 20, 2026.
According to Major General Dam Minh Tuan, immediately after receiving directives from the Prime Minister, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence, Military Region 1 identified the campaign as a mission of special political significance, contributing to the country's development in a new era.

TheMilitary Region 1 mobilized 1,457 personnel to support construction in line with the project's workforce requirements. Two divisions deployed 637 officers and soldiers, who were stationed at eight locations and carried out construction support along the entire expressway.
Military Region 1 personnel spent more than three months supporting construction on the Dong Dang – Tra Linh Expressway.
Before joining construction activities, Deo Ca Group organized training courses for military personnel covering construction procedures, equipment operation, technical requirements, workplace safety, and site regulations. The Group also worked closely with relevant agencies to provide accommodation, logistics, and technical support for the deployed troops.

The participation of military personnel strengthened the workforce and supported at multiple sections of the route.

Over more than 100 days, military personnel contributed over 25,000 man-days, completed more than 40,000 square meters of foundation reinforcement, helped construct 10 bridges, completed over 6 kilometers of project works and carried out numerous other key construction tasks.
To date, contractors have mobilized more than 2,000 workers, nearly 1,000 pieces of machinery and equipment and are operating at 132 construction fronts. Construction output has exceeded 75% of the contract value, while approximately 60 kilometers of one carriageway - from Dong Dang to Dong Khe - has been paved with asphalt concrete. This milestone provides a solid foundation for completing the 93-kilometer Phase 1 to its planned 22-meter cross-section by the end of this year. |
Mr. Hoang Duc Tho, Director of the Cao Bang Transport Construction Investment Project Management Board, highlighted that throughout the campaign, the soldiers worked side by side with engineers, workers and local residents to overcome harsh weather and challenging terrain. Their efforts further strengthened military-civilian solidarity and demonstrated the armed forces' commitment to supporting local socio-economic development.

Although the soldiers have completed their mission and returned to their units, the spirit of dedication they brought to Dong Dang – Tra Linh Expressway lives on. The close cooperation among all stakeholders and the strong military-civilian partnership will continue to drive the project toward its targeted completion in 2026.
