According to Mr. Pham Van Hung, Deputy General Director of DEOCA Group - the leading contractor of the package XL01, currently, the consortium has mobilized nearly 600 personnel and 160 pieces of machinery and equipment, deploying 18 construction fronts simultaneously, including six for tunnel and twelve for bridge and road sections. Construction activities are being flexibly managed in close alignment with actual site clearance and geological conditions, with output meeting the progress schedule committed to the project owner.

The consortium has mobilized nearly 600 personnel and 160 machines, deploying 18 construction fronts.
According to the plan, the consortium aims to complete the entire XL01 package by October 2026, approximately eight months ahead of the contractual schedule. The critical path of the package is the Phoenix Tunnel, which has now been fully excavated for both left and right tubes. The project management team is currently focusing on finishing the tunnel lining structure and preparing electromechanical systems, ITS, and SCADA equipment to ensure synchronized and safe operation upon commissioning.

Mr. Pham Van Hung, Deputy General director of DEOCA Group, reports on construction progress to the provincial delegation.
Alongside achieved results, the contractor consortium proposed that the Dak Lak Provincial People’s Committee and relevant departments continue to support the early completion of site clearance at the western tunnel portal, ensure sand supply, and power supply for material production areas - especially during peak hours. These are factors that are currently placing considerable pressure on overall project progress.
Vice Chairman Truong Cong Thai expressed his encouragement and shared sentiments with the project owner, contractors, and all workers on site. He extended New Year wishes of good health and urged them to continue upholding the spirit of “enduring sun and rain”, ensuring construction quality, aesthetics, and above all, absolute labor safety.

Mr. Truong Cong Thai presents New Year gifts to project staff and workers.
He affirmed that Dak Lak Province will continue to accompany and direct relevant agencies in addressing difficulties and bottlenecks, with the highest goal of ensuring seamless connectivity between Package No. 2 and Package No. 3, striving to complete the entire expressway on schedule. This is expected to create new momentum and expand socio-economic development space for the region.
Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot Expressway is a nationally significant transport project with strategic importance in connecting the Central Highlands with the South Central Coast. Package No. 2 has a length of approximately 37 km, running through Khanh Hoa and Dak Lak provinces, with a total investment of over VND 10.436 trillion. This section features the most complex terrain of the entire project, including the critical Phoenix Tunnel under Package XL01, which requires high technical standards and intensive resource mobilization. Package XL01 is 11 km long with a total investment value of VND 3.083 trillion. Currently, resources across the entire site are being highly concentrated, aiming for the technical opening to traffic of Package No. 2 by May 2026. |
