As people across Vietnam enjoy the National Day holiday, machinery continues to operate at many Deoca Group projects. Thousands of managers, engineers and workers remain on construction sites, taking advantage of favorable weather to accelerate progress toward key project milestones.
At Huu Nghi – Chi Lang Expressway project, more than 2,400 workers, together with over 1,000 machines and equipment, have been mobilized across 114 work fronts. Construction teams are maintaining an intensive pace, aiming to complete the entire route in 2026.
In recent months, bad weather have significantly affected project implementation. At several locations, slopes have suffered landslides, sending soil and rock onto completed road sections. According to the Project Management Board, the main causes are newly formed slopes and steep terrain exposed to prolonged heavy rainfall, combined with runoff flowing down from surrounding hillsides.
In response, the project enterprise and contractors have reviewed affected location and mobilized personnel and equipment to address landslides, maintain safety, and minimize impacts on the overall schedule.
While repairing damage caused by floods and landslides, the teams are also accelerating the remaining workload, taking advantage of favorable weather to recover lost progress.
Mr. Tran Van Chuan, Director of Huu Nghi – Chi Lang Expressway Project Management Board, said: “Our teams stay on site and work throughout the holiday, mobilizing maximum manpower and equipment to both repair areas affected by floods and landslides and increase construction output”.
The investor and contractors are concentrating resources with the goal of completing the entire project by December 2026, creating an early connection from Chi Lang to Huu Nghi International Border Gate.
At Phase 1 of Dong Dang – Tra Linh Expressway project, more than 2,000 personnel, along with 897 machines and equipment are working across 132 construction fronts under challenging terrain and complex geological conditions.
The project has also been affected by unfavorable weather. Typhoon No. 4 brought heavy rainfall to Lang Son and Cao Bang provinces, causing prolonged flooding in several areas and triggering landslides and slip zones along the route, potentially affecting construction activities.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuan, Deputy General Director of Dong Dang – Tra Linh Expressway Joint Stock Company, in response to increasingly complicated weather conditions, the management board has determined that flood and storm prevention measures must be implemented proactively and well in advance, with the highest priority given to the safety of workers, machinery, equipment and residents living near the project.
“We have instructed contractors to review the entire construction site and proactively move machinery, equipment and materials to higher and safer locations. The Project Management Board also maintains standby teams, vehicles and equipment to respond immediately to emerging situations, particularly at locations at risk of landslides, flooding or traffic disruption”, Mr. Tuan said.
Despite numerous challenges, the overall project schedule is currently around six months ahead of the original plan. The authorities of Lang Son and Cao Bang provinces, together with the investor consortium and project enterprise are working toward completing the 93 km under phases 1 and 2 before April 30, 2027, and completing the entire connection to Tra Linh Border Gate in the first quarter of 2028.
During the National Day holiday, Dong Dang – Tra Linh Project Management Board arranged flexible work shifts, allowing workers sufficient rest while maintaining construction momentum.
In the Northwest region, construction also continues at Hoang Lien road tunnel project during the holiday. The contractor consortium led by Deoca Group is simultaneously implementing tunnel, bridge and road works.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duy Song, Director of the Project Management Board, the project has entered the rainy season, creating significant difficulties for construction. The consortium has proactively developed appropriate plans and arranged personnel and equipment to maintain progress.
“Alongside organizing construction throughout the holiday with appropriate benefits for workers, the Project Management Board is paying particular attention to occupational safety and hygiene to ensure worker safety and construction quality”, Mr. Song said.
Tunnel, bridge and road construction fronts are being implemented simultaneously at Hoang Lien road tunnel project.
At Package XL24 of the Tuyen Quang – Ha Giang Expressway project, construction output has reached approximately 94%. Workers continue working during the holiday, focusing on the remaining items.
At Package XL01 of Vinh – Thanh Thuy project, resources are being concentrated on bridge and road works. At Dai Hue Bridge, the Project Management Board has taken advantage of favorable weather to flexibly arrange construction teams during the holiday.
The completed value of the bridge works has reached approximately USD 339,000 out of USD 17.58 million, in line with the target. For the road section, construction teams are carrying out excavation and embankment works, building structures along the route and treating soft ground using CDM technology, with completed value reaching approximately USD 204,000 out of USD 17.18 million, equivalent to 1.2%.
In the South, construction activities are also proceeding intensively at Ho Chi Minh City – Trung Luong – My Thuan Expressway expansion project. Contractors have mobilized more than 1,000 managers, engineers and workers to simultaneously carry out soft-ground treatment, bored piles, abutment and pier foundations and bodies, and girder casting.By the end of August, completed output had reached approximately USD 61.61 million out of USD 827.15 million, equivalent to 7.5%.
Construction remains intensive at Ho Chi Minh City – Trung Luong – My Thuan Expressway expansion project during the National Day holiday.
At Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh Expressway expansion project, the contractor consortium continues round-the-clock construction during the holiday, with personnel arranged on a 24/7 basis. Within the section undertaken by Deoca, 60 personnel and 40 machines and equipment have been mobilized.

Benefits for employees working during the holiday are provided in accordance with State regulations and the Group’s welfare policies. Units also proactively arrange shifts and reasonable rest periods to ensure workers’ health and working conditions, allowing managers, engineers and workers to remain focused on their duties.
In addition, to maintain progress, many other projects involving Deoca, including Ngoc Hoi Bridge, Tay Thang Long Road and Tan Van Interchange, also maintain construction forces on site to carry out planned work items.
Across construction sites from North to South, machinery continues to operate and work fronts remain active. Thousands of managers, engineers and workers continue their efforts on each task, helping bring projects to completion on schedule and serving the travel needs of the public.
