On the morning of July 19, in Tuy Hoa (Dak Lak province), DEOCA Group held a ceremony to honor individuals and collectives who have contributed to the Group’s success over its 40-year journey of overcoming challenges.

Held in an intimate atmosphere, the event welcomed nearly 200 guests, including current and former local leaders, strategic partners, and media representatives. On behalf of DEOCA Group, the Board of Directors, Advisory Board, Executive Board, leaders of member units, employee representatives from across the regions, and families of senior executives also attended.

The overview of the ceremony.

The ceremony was a chance for the Group's advisors, leaders, and their families to share stories and reflections on the tough but proud journey of DEOCA people. For the Group, gratitude is expressed through concrete actions, showing deep care for the parents and families who quietly support those working as “road builders.”

Wiping away tears while talking about his family, Mr. Nguyen Tan Dong, Vice Chairman of the Group, said that he frequently has to stay away from home to directly oversee and coordinate key projects. Being absent from family meals or unable to take care of sick parents or children was his constant source of regret as a son, a husband, and a father. Yet, the mission of building roads and bridges to open up development opportunities for remote communities is a sacred responsibility for those “road builders.” Fortunately, a tower of strength always stands behind every DEOCA person. They are ones who silently sacrifice and provide strength so that employees can focus on their work and contribute to the well-being of the community and the country.

“During holidays, many of us are often away from home, but other leaders still visit and encourage our families. We are so grateful to our families for their understanding and empathy, which gives us the courage to build roads across the country,” Mr. Nguyen Tan Dong added.

The audience again fell silent, with many moved to tears when Vice Chairman Nguyen Huu Hung shared his last conversation with his father. Placing his hand on a portrait of his father, he revealed that while undergoing intensive treatment, his father could not attend the ceremony. Despite his absence, his father always followed the Group’s growth and his son’s contributions with pride.

“Every Tet holiday, when the Group's leaders returned to my hometown in Nghe An province, my father deeply cherished Mr. Hoang's warm gesture toward our family,” Mr. Hung said. “Even from the hospital, he was overjoyed to know that the Party and Government have great faith in DEOCA Group. Before falling into a deep coma, he encouraged me to come to Tuy Hoa for the Group's ceremony and that he would wait for me to return.”

On behalf of the mothers of DEOCA Group’s employees, Mrs. Ngo Thi Kiem, mother of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors Phan Van Thang, shared that seeing her son dedicate his youth and strength to the Group is an immeasurable source of pride.

Like many other mothers, Mrs. Kiem never expected rewards for raising her child but only wished for him to grow up and contribute to society. Knowing that construction work often keeps him far from home, yet when her son told her, “Mom, I’m going to Phu Yen province,” her heart tightened. The thought of him working tirelessly in the remote areas filled her with worry and anxiety about the hardships he might endure.

However, seeing him contribute to the Group and work alongside like-minded colleagues, I force myself to stay strong, holding back my tears so he can focus on his duties.

“When we attended the inauguration of Cu Mong Tunnel, my husband and I could not hold back tears witnessing our son and his colleagues’ achievements. Such a huge project is evidence of young people’s dedication, sacrifice, and effort. Today, seeing him mature alongside DEOCA team fills me with immense joy,” Mrs. Kiem shared.

Gratitude beyond words

The initial emotional atmosphere of the ceremony gradually shifted to a lively one as former leaders of Phu Yen, advisors, and partners shared memorable stories about the Group and Chairman Ho Minh Hoang.

Mr. Ho Minh Hoang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of DEOCA Group and Mr. Ho Nghia Dung, Chairman of the Group’s Advisory Board presented gifts to former leaders of Phu Yen Province.

Mr. Ho Nghia Dung, Chairman of the Group’s Advisory Board, believes that the company's culture of gratitude has been fundamental to its groundbreaking achievements in the transport infrastructure sector. Although they have successfully completed many challenging projects, Deo Ca tunnel remains a pioneering milestone that embodies the will to “overcome hardships” and the aspiration to elevate the Vietnamese brand on the global stage. He stressed that a deep love for one's homeland is at the core of DEOCA’s success.

“DEOCA’s success today comes not only from the leaders’ strategic vision but also, importantly, from its culture of gratitude. Unlike other large corporations, where gratitude may be just words, DEOCA shows great care for its employees' well-being and consistently improves their working conditions. Moreover, the Group also shows appreciation for their families through practical actions as a sincere thank you to their supporters," he added.

Advisor Do Van Dung described Mr. Ho Minh Hoang, Chairman of DEOCA Group as a passionate, sharp-minded, and homeland-oriented leader. He recalled his time as Mr. Hoang’s teacher, when the two would cycle 20 kilometers from Thu Duc city to Ho Chi Minh City for extra classes.

“That image showed me that the flame of passion for knowledge has never faded in Mr.Hoang,” Mr. Do Van Dung said. “I am proud to witness the growth of DEOCA people, who are united, creative, and constantly striving to build sustainable roads connecting all regions of the country."

Though he has only worked with DEOCA for a short time, Mr. Truong Trong Cu, an economic expert, said that he is highly impressed by the Group leadership's strategic vision, especially in their approach to retaining talent and nurturing a culture of gratitude toward employees, their families, and the homeland.

“Seeing parents of DEOCA personnel gathering with their children is an unforgettable memory for me. Perhaps this culture of gratitude is the core factor behind DEOCA’s success," Mr. Cu said.

Tears soon gave way to warm smiles as DEOCA people shared stories of family, career, and life. A particularly memorable part of the ceremony was when their families stepped onto the stage to receive bouquets and portraits of their parents.

At the end of the ceremony, Chairman Ho Minh Hoang expressed profound emotion and pride in DEOCA Group’s 40-year journey. He believes that heartfelt stories are more valuable than a thousand words of praise, and the silent tears of families are as meaningful as the sweat shed on construction sites.

Through such events, the culture of gratitude, like a thin but steadfast red thread, will continue to guide the people of DEOCA as they confidently pursue new aspirations.
