In a recent seminar of Deoca Group in Hanoi, with his gentlemanly style, and a medium-volume but clear, coherent voice – Major General Nguyen Huy Ma had “poured” whole heart to share his thoughts on Deoca, Deoca members in 10 years of attachment, participating in building and development this brand. It is different from previous seminars and exchanges, instead of giving suggestions to Deoca leaders by detailed and optimizing plans, which may help Deoca to develop faster and stronger; this time, General Ma had “given his spirit”, referred to “passion and desire to devote for organization” issue, as a transference from him to Deoca young generation. And in his story, it was always led by motivation from Ho Minh Hoang (Deoca Group Chairman of the Board); maybe for the character Ho Minh Hoang, in addition to love, respect he also put in him something larger, maybe it is faith, transferring for leading persons.

He talked on Deoca road tunnel project, on Bac Giang – Lang Son project … On favorable conditions situation, in that moment, and also obstructions of Deoca Head – Ho Minh Hoang and colleagues had to overcome! He talked passionately with his admiring feeling and an inexhaustible faith from a man to a man, an individual for an organization and a love for dear “Deoca Home”.

In this exchanging seminar, Major General Nguyen Huy Ma had addressed his target audience, members of management board, young leaders of Deoca. His presentations, information are like a memoir on experiences in “fighting” journey to protect his true corporations. And a picture of Ho Minh Hoang is always woven and presented in his story as a sharp, intelligent, practical, tough, but also “artistic” and humanism. He gives all passionately words for Ho Minh Hoang as a person who “can make an impossible become possible” with an outstanding spirit and incredible will in all situations.

He told, 40 years ago, when he had just graduated Reconnaissance major of Economic Institute, when the South had just been liberated, he was assigned to the South to protect Southern economics. He thought that “start-up” did not necessary means to join in a corporation, in his situation, he participates in protecting national economics, make thousands of corporation in such period to find better opportunities. General Ma’s starting point was just like other people, he always thought farmers as his friends. Even though not a “silver spoon” person, but by his devotion and love for the job, he had gradually gained trust and love of superiors, colleagues and promoted to Vice Chief of Office, then Chief of Office, and next become Economic Police Department Deputy Minister, and after that assigned by Public Security Ministry to take position of Police Document Department Head. In his working period, through professional positions, from Office level to Department, in all units he always awarded Hero of People’s Armed Forced title by the State…

General Ma shared that, the story he wanted to refer to as choosing start-up objective and stay persistence with the chosen objective. He referred to Mr. Ho Minh Hoang as an example for start-up story, on the burning passion for chosen objective whether it is small or big. For him, Deoca story is a big objective, if not “tremendous”. Shared an idea and passion with Assoc. Prof. Tran Chung, he thought that different from many other transportation infrastructure construction projects, throughout all constructions of Deoca, until now, there is no regretful technical accident or traffic accident had happened. That was everything he had witnessed, inspected and proud of, when he was participated in Advisory Board for young corporation leader Ho Minh Hoang.

There was a detail that General Ma usually reminded in his stories on Deoca. He said, the moment that would follow him to the rest of his life shall be the moment Mr. Ho Minh Hoang pressed button to fire the last explosion breaking-through Deoca tunnel. In other corporation, tunnel breakthrough is usually followed with a huge ceremony, but for Mr. Ho Minh Hoang, it was vice versa, he and his colleagues carried a cold beer set and flowers to celebrate for that success. It seemed to be rare in any corporations, with Hoang, it was simple, non-lavish to save a significant cost for corporation.

And it was obviously that we all know, Deoca road tunnel project had saved for the State nearly 4,000 billion VND, it was a significant matter in countless domestic projects tended to “charge up” to thousand billion VND. And then Cu Mong, Hai Van was extended … all such projects did not have cost occurred. Therefore, it was proven that Deoca had a good management, leadership and pure, passionate, young team. After Cu Mong, Hai Van, Deoca Group continued to march to the North for Bac Giang – Lang Son Project.

As we all know, Bac Giang – Lang Son project was implemented 2 years ago, however its construction was delayed due to former contractor had many issues on capital and management. After many heated, decisive meetings, Ho Minh Hoang had decided to join in and accepted a project with full of difficulties, challenges, and risks. General Ma also thought that, in Bac Giang – Lang Son project, transferring the State competent authority from Ministry of Transport to Lang Son Province People’s Committee was a right and successful step, marking effort and leadership knowledge of Deoca Group Chairman.

“Even though the numbers will never be absolute. However, a Group with a holding company and 19 member corporations, nearly 5,000 personnel, with the scope of production, trading and investment capital up to 40 thousand billion in 10 years of development, has depth and key idea. Is it truly miraculous!”

In the most recent time, during the period of transmitting chemicals combined with radiotherapy to fight against final terminal cancer, he once again left VINMEC Time City International General Hospital to participate in “Deoca re-structure” program and continued to give profound comments before Opposition Council with a conclusion: “the starting point of Cooperative is a pair of left foot as a symbol for organization previously, from a Cooperative Chairman, and now a symbol of a book and strategy called as “tactics”, such Cooperative Chairman thought about re-structuring to become a Group Chairman is truly a worth to do and respectful matter, …” And he also had many phone calls, sent messages to Deoca leaders to motivate, share his faith on Deoca Leader’s way, positive spirit on life and things that “the Chairman has done”.

And if we all understood, “the feeling” that General Ma had given to Deoca, to Deoca people was always shared anywhere, anytime … even when he was struggling to fight against the final terminal cancer … then we would be more treasured a man with the rich love and motivation – a personality! And two words Deoca as a goal for going ahead, building and devote spirit through himself, he wished to share it to all young generation of Deoca.
