On November 25, 2024, DEOCA Group, in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport (UTH), organized the Opening Ceremony for the High-speed Railway and Urban Railway Training Program.

This is the subsequent course of the second degree Training Program in High-speed Railway and Urban Railway, commissioned by DEOCA Group to UTH, aimed at training students who are personnel from DEOCA Group system and its partners.

The course has 130 students, divided into 3 classes in 2 majors: Railway Construction and Automatic Control Engineering and Railway Signal Information.

At the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Vice Rector of UTH, expressed the university's deep appreciation for DEOCA Group's dedication to cultivating practical human resources. He highlighted that this effort reflects not only the vision and steadfast determination of the Group's leadership but also their commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and shared values among DEOCA's members. These contributions are pivotal to the success of critical national transport infrastructure projects, particularly the North-South high-speed railway and urban railway systems.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, the Resolution on the investment policy for the North-South high-speed railway project indicates that there are just over two years remaining before the project enters its implementation phase. This highlights the pressing need to prepare in terms of technology, human resources, and infrastructure. Recognizing this urgency, DEOCA Group has taken proactive and pioneering steps to stay ahead of the curve. Earlier this year, the Group launched its first training course for 40 participants, including its officers, employees, and partners. To date, the inaugural course has successfully completed the theoretical components.

“In just over a year, the first training course will be ready to deliver its first graduates, who will promptly contribute as a key resource for the preparation and execution of pre-feasibility and feasibility studies for the North-South high-speed railway project, as well as urban railway projects in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi,” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan said.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Giang, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of DEOCA Group, emphasized that knowledge is regarded as the cornerstone for creating value and driving sustainable development. At DEOCA, learning is thoughtfully tailored to suit various personnel levels, including vocational and professional training for workers and engineers, master’s programs for managerial staff, and postgraduate education for strategic leadership roles.

To achieve the goal of contributing to railway projects, DEOCA has partnered with universities to recruit and train high-quality human resources through a model that combines early-stage collaboration and on-site training. The Group focuses on training workers, engineers, and managers to meet project demands.

DEOCA also organizes overseas programs to study practical training processes in the railway and metro sectors. It actively strengthens partnerships with experienced international players in high-speed rail, such as Japan and China, to transfer technology and advanced technical solutions. At the same time, it works on "localizing" technology and equipment to fit the conditions and needs of the Vietnamese market.

“Over the years, as pioneers in the field of transport infrastructure, we have constantly reflected on a vital question: How can we not only deliver outstanding projects for the nation but also nurture exceptional talent—engineers and experts capable of mastering advanced technologies and becoming future leaders in the industry? The answer is clear: we must prioritize training and foster extensive collaboration between businesses, academic institutions, and international organizations,” affirmed Mr. Giang.

Mr. Le Quoc Dung, Acting Director of the Project Management Board 7 at the Ministry of Transport, emphasized that Vietnam’s investment in building the North-South high-speed railway and urban rail systems is an essential and inevitable step.

Representative of Project Management Board 7 expressed confidence in the effectiveness of the training program

Mr. Dung praised DEOCA’s quick recognition of the need for human resources in the railway industry and the group’s bold leadership in pioneering the training program. He expressed confidence in the school’s expertise and DEOCA Group’s enthusiasm and practical experience, believing their cooperation will be successful and effective.

On behalf of more than 130 learners, Mr. Ho Huu Tan, a QC Engineer at the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project, expressed his determination to study and research.

“We understand that every piece of knowledge we gain today not only brings value to ourselves but also lays the foundation for a new beginning, as our goal is the horizon ahead. We are committed to doing our best in our studies to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for our field,” said Mr. Tan.
