Lang Son Province, September 25 - DEOCA Group officially launched a training and technology transfer program on DEOCA-type tunnelling technology, targeting technicians, engineers, and managers from partner contractors.

The program was held on site at the Dong Dang – Tra Linh Expressway project and connected online with the Quang Ngai – Hoai Nhon Expressway project, marking the start of DEOCA Group’s roadmap to transfer advanced tunnelling know-how to domestic partners.

A total of 130 participants are taking part in the course, which focuses on DEOCA-type NATM tunnelling technology. The training aims to help partner workforces gain technical autonomy, master equipment operation, and organize safe, high-quality, and efficient construction.

Overview of the program

The program was held on site at the Dong Dang – Tra Linh Expressway project and connected online with the Quang Ngai – Hoai Nhon Expressway project, marking the start of DEOCA Group’s roadmap to transfer advanced tunnelling know-how to domestic partners.

A total of 130 participants are taking part in the course, which focuses on DEOCA-type NATM tunnelling technology. The training aims to help partner workforces gain technical autonomy, master equipment operation, and organize safe, high-quality, and efficient construction.

The curriculum is structured across four competency levels - Know, Understand, Do, and Analyze - tailored to three groups: technicians, field engineers, and professional managers. It combines theory with extensive on-site practice, covering key activities such as drilling, shotcreting, excavation and reinforcement, waterproofing, and safety, environmental, and quality management.

Notably, the program includes up to 750 hours of hands-on training, allowing participants to directly engage in tunnelling works at ongoing projects implemented by DEOCA Group.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tan Dong, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of DEOCA Group, emphasized the principle of “real teaching, real learning, real practice,” expressing confidence that the program would deliver practical outcomes and contribute to improved construction quality, progress, and safety.

According to Government plans, total investment demand for tunnelling works over the next decade is estimated at approximately VND 550 trillion, with a total length of around 300 km, highlighting the urgent need for high-quality human resources in the sector.

Developed on the basis of Austria’s NATM technology, the DEOCA–type tunnelling solution features at least two working spaces for each excavation face, enhancing safety, increasing operational efficiency, and shortening construction time. The technology has been applied to multiple tunnel sections of the Quang Ngai – Hoai Nhon project and other tunnel projects nationwide.
