On August 8, 2023, in Ho Chi Minh City, DEOCA Group and the University of Transport of Ho Chi Minh City (UTH) met to concretize cooperation in human resource training between the two sides.
DEOCA proposed a plan to establish the Research and Training Institute under UTH, combining the DOECA's experience and management capacity in transportation and UTH's research and training strengths. This Institute will train, receive and transfer technology in the transport field, research, and apply technology for practical application. DEOCA will invite members of the Advisory Council and assign several vital leaders to join the Founding Council and Executive Board of the Institute. Those prioritized for training are UTH students, DEOCA's employees, and their partners.

The Institute will organize training according to DEOCA's orders, mainly training masters and doctorates, thematic or short courses in transport infrastructure. Regarding research-technology transfer, the Institute will research new technologies and application solutions for DEOCA and the transport industry. Its laboratory will be built to study work quality and safety inspection, materials testing, construction solutions, and other specific experiments.
At the meeting, Mr. Ho Minh Hoang affirmed that this cooperation relationship would benefit both sides, dedicating the best to develop the country.
DEOCA also ordered UTH to train human resources for the urban railway sector with specialties such as construction, locomotives - rolling stock, electricity - control - automation, and operation. Trainees will be UTH students with relevant professions and DEOCA's staff with expertise in work construction.
In addition, the two sides also agreed to cooperate in transport infrastructure construction consultancy. Specifically, DEOCA will invite UTH lecturers to research special-level projects such as cable-stayed bridges and railway tunnels and coordinate in implementing construction drawings, experiments, inspections, etc.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuong - Rector of UTH, highly appreciated the prestige, capacity, and experience of DEOCA Group in the field of transport infrastructure. "The "win" of the university in this cooperation is to accompany DEOCA in the construction of key national traffic works", he shared.
The two sides also agreed to formulate a project to establish the Institute, complete procedures soon, sign a strategic cooperation agreement, build training programs, and prepare facilities for training shortly.
