Accumulating experience for self-training

After 37 years of development, Deo Ca Group is now a leading private company in the investment and construction of transport infrastructure. Deo Ca Group (DCG) has owned qualified human resources to complete massive projects across the country, especially in road tunnel engineering.

Learning pervaded the whole Group.

Mr. Ho Minh Hoang - Chairman of Deo Ca Group, determined: "People and culture cannot be borrowed." This statement showed the importance of the Group's human resource training and development.

Therefore, DCG has spent more than 20 billion VND in cooperation with the National Economics University (NEU) to train the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) for 48 key leaders of DCG. Up to now, the students have graduated from the EMBA course.

The outstanding student in the course was Mr. Nguyen Huu Dung, a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering trained in Germany. He has many years of working experience as a traffic technical consultant and the operator of a leading consulting unit in surveying, designing, and supervising traffic projects in Vietnam. Participating in the course, student Nguyen Huu Dung was highly appreciated by the master's thesis grading committee and given the best score (9.8 points).

In 2022, the Board of Directors (BOD) directed the implementation of internal training for specialized personnel in the Group. The main training content depended on the job requirements of each department. The trainers were the leaders of departments. Employees at the construction site were also trained to enhance their skills and work safety. The Group also invited training institutions to test and issue certificates to ensure the quality of personnel for the Group's new projects.

The leaders also spent a lot of time sharing with employees about the Group's development history, strategy, and corporate culture values, to unify the perceptions and actions of the whole employees.

In the EMBA program, the subject content was also jointly developed and adjusted by DCG and the NEU to suit the Group's work requirements. Exercises and theses also aimed at solving practical problems of the Group.

Similarly, internal training was built based on survey results and assessment of the weaknesses and strengths of each department. Thereby helping employees have more knowledge, better skills, and work more efficiently.

Deo Ca brand is associated with significant, challenging projects that other businesses cannot or dare not do. Typically, the largest tunnels, such as Hai Van, Deo Ca, Cu Mong; stalled expressways were successfully rescued, such as Bac Giang - Lang Son, Trung Luong - My Thuan; difficult expressways are proposed to be deployed, such as Dong Dang - Tra Linh, Tan Phu - Bao Loc, etc.

The difficulties are precious lessons for Deo Ca people to be stronger and more confident when facing future challenges.

Training content in the coming time will exploit from the actual project implementation. With experienced leaders and Advisory Council, combined with the knowledge gained from training institutions, the training activities are expected to address the Group's work requirements and be summarized into documents in the training programs institutions.

Learning to go far

The development potential of the transport industry in Vietnam is huge. In that context, DCG will vigorously develop scale and new transportation works.

Personnel training will still be a top priority in implementing the Group's strategy. Mr. Ho Minh Hoang also emphasized: "Investing in people is the most budget investment." The leaders will synchronize training activities on many staff levels to meet the quality personnel for jobs in the coming period.
