On January 21, 2020, the delegation of the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) led by Minister Nguyen Chi Dung and Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and leaders of 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region came to visit and give New Year’s greeting to managers and workers at Trung Luong My Thuan Expressway project site.

This is a great encouragement to the project, a timely encouragement to experts, engineers, workers working on the construction site during Tet.

Mr. Nguyen Tan Dong - General Director of Trung Luong - My Thuan BOT Joint Stock Company (project enterprise) reported on the progress of the project as well as implementation plan in 2020. He also mentioned some current outstanding problems of the project and showed his expectation of continuing to receive the attention and guidance from the Minister of MPI.

Minister Nguyen Chi Dung highly appreciated the determination of the company leaders, managers and workers at the project. This Tet, they put aside the chance to reunite with their families to stay on the construction, determined to fulfill the “expected road” of people in Mekong Delta by the end of this year and absolutely complete in 2021.

“On behalf of the MPI, I acknowledge the contributions of managers and workers in Trung Luong - My Thuan project, and require the constructors must put quality first, do not just rush to the progress and ignore the quality. I’m looking forward to this time next year, we could see vehicles run on this expressway”, Mr. Dung said.

At the project site, the Minister presented Tet gifts to managers, engineers and workers in order to promptly encourage and stimulate their morale. Also during this visit, at the Site office in Cai Be district, the Minister on behalf of the Trade Union of MPI gave funds for the poor of 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region, each one 100 million dongs.

Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway project has had many positive changes thanks to the attention and timely guidance of the Government and other agencies from the Central to Local authorities, as well as the support of the people of the Mekong Delta and the determination of investors, contractors. All show the resolve to complete the road expected for over a decade of the Southwest people.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, 10 bidding packages were organized to carry out 3 shifts / day with more than 300 managers, engineers and workers. The fact that carrying out the construction throughout Tet, welcoming New Year on the construction site shows the determination to bring the project to the destination on time by the end of 2020 so that no more mistakes will be made for more than 21 million people in the Mekong Delta.
