On February 19, 2020, Deo Ca Group assessed the construction work of Hai Van tunnel’s expansion project (in the area of Thua Thien Hue and Da Nang city).
The standing Advisory Council - Assoc.Prof. Dr. Tran Chung and advisors Nguyen Dinh Chinh, Ho Nghia Tin, senior expert Nguyen The Phung, Vice Chairman of the BOM Nguyen Tan Dong and leaders of the Executive Board and related departments have directly checked the quality and progress of construction in all bidding packages of the project.
According to the report of Hai Van Tunnel Project Management Unit (PMU), up to now, the construction progress of the Hai Van tunnel’s expansion project has reached 84.56% for the tunnel, 78% for the northern road and the southern road reached 76%, the overall construction is expected to be completed before 5/30/2020. Currently, equipments for the project has been ordered, some have been put on the construction site. It is expected that by the end of March 2020, all equipments will be put into the work site. The contractors and construction units expressed their commitment to meet the investors’ requirement.
Expert Nguyen The Phung highly appreciated the construction work: "6km of tunnel did not leak water, remedy the shortcomings of previous constructions".
Assoc.Prof. Dr. Tran Chung said that the progress of expanding Hai Van tunnel was "quite urgent". He asked the Executive Board and contractors have to attach importance to environmental protection and obstacles elimination during the implementation of the project: “After Tet, we have a certain inertia, but the holiday time has passed, we should rush up to complete project and meet requirements of both quality and punctuality. "
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the BOM Nguyen Tan Dong emphasized that priority should be given to construction, especially equipment installation, which requires further tightly supervision. During the sprint period, contractors who show signs of weak capacity that do not guarantee the overall progress will be replaced immediately.
