On the morning of September 14, 2022, the heart of a Deo Ca person stopped beating, although it was predicted, it made many people in the system can't help but feel sad. Mr. Dao Duy Anh, working at the Technical - Planning Department, had just laid down, after days of fighting a violent illness.
Two weeks before the sad day, I and Mr. Nguyen Le Bach - Deputy Director of Technical - Planning Department, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Hoa and Mr. Le Thai Trung are all close colleagues of Mr. Dao Duy Anh went to Construction Hospital to visit him. At that time, his health has gone bad. Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Thao - Duy Anh's wife, sadly said: “His liver is all fibrous. The doctor said that the situation was very bad…, but he still hoped for a miracle to return to work with his brothers”. Then her voice was nearly strangled by the sobs.

Only been hospitalized for a few days, but his hair turned gray, his appearance was tired but his demeanor was still calm. Beside his pillow, I still see some documents of Deo Ca.
Seeing us come, Duy Anh took a pillow to cover the document, raised himself in bed and tried to force a smile. Could not speak because he was tired, just held out his thin hand to hold each person's hand. At that time, I didn't know what to say, I handed the envelope to Mrs. Thao. Writing on the envelope is very young, very “construction” words: "500 brothers on 265 Cau Giay hope you come back to work soon". Then I turned to Duy Anh and said: "Actually the whole system hopes that. Try to get well soon”.
On the way home, Bach shared: “In his hospital bed, Duy Anh still participates in bidding and working with his brothers often. He asked to continue his work”.

So that everyone wouldn't worry, Mr. Duy Anh didn't tell anyone about his illness. He still went with his brothers to survey the scene. Some projects were far away and the road was bumpy, he tried to hide his pain. The survey trip to the coastal road project in Binh Dinh province in April was his last. Bach said, come to think of it, that time he hid his pain to go with everyone. After entering the system, Mr. Duy Anh could promote full of his forte as a geodetic engineer, leading the brothers to survey the new route. In addition, he assumes the role of preparing legal documents and machinery and equipment in the bid. “This is a very difficult job, requiring meticulousness and care in the context of many and consecutive bidding as in the past time. Duy Anh also has a good relationship with friends and authorities in the construction industry, so they help many things and support the contractor team in other jobs”, Bach said.
On September 15, 2022, the hearse took him back to Yen Bai, where he started his business and had many relatives by his side, ending his life with many unfinished things. The leaders of the Executive Board, brothers of the Technical Planning Department sent him off on the last road. Not long after Duy Anh’s death, Mrs. Thao and a brother came to Deo Ca's office. She sat with her head bowed for a while and then choked: “He really wants to go back to work… love the atmosphere of Deo Ca…”.
It was not when Thao said those formal-sounding things, I also envisioned his love for work.
The Group's Trade Union has just launched a contest for children of the Deo Ca people to express the joys and hardships of their parents. When the poster about the contest "Deo Ca - The family in my heart" had not been posted, Duy Anh was gone. But I believe that his daughter, even only in grade 4, will have lines written about her father's love and unfinished dreams...
Mrs. Thao said, when their daughter grows up, if she can work at Deo Ca, maybe somewhere, her husband will be very happy.
